What type of camera did you use at DC?

I am curious what type of cameras people use at DC. Do you use a digital waterproof camera or is the one-time use ones that they give with the cabana good enough? Which camera would you recommend?

I bought a Nikon Coolpix S30 waterproof camera for under $100 from Amazon before our trip to DC in August. It takes GREAT underwater pictures. We used the disposable one that came with the cabana too and while it will do for photos, if you want good photos, get a real camera. DD and her friends use it at the pool too for pictures and underwater video. It was well worth the money IMO.

I agree with bas71873 .... the disposable underwater cameras just don't cut it if you are hoping for some great pictures. They will give you "okay" photos, but not stellar ones.

For our first visit to DC, we bought a cheap Kodak underwater camera (it was at Canadian Tire for something silly like $50) and it was....well....a cheap underwater camera . Definitely would have been better off doubling the cost and getting something a little better.

For our August trip, we bought one of these for our Fuji Finepix:

It worked well and we were able to get some really good photos . And it was much more affordable than a whole new camera.

These look interesting and so affordable. I don't think I can persuade DH to use one with his precious Nikon DSLR....he won't take the risk, but maybe one for my Canon S95. I am going to continue to search on amazon for either this or a waterproof P&S. The prices for the camera on Amazon is 30% cheaper than if I buy it here at home. Another good reason to consider getting one on amazon and have them deliver to our hotel. I don't want to use the one time use camera and regret it

It is available on amazon for less than $10. Since DC will be providing one with the premium package, I believe they should also be selling them at the souvenir shop.

I believe they are $14 at the park. You could also pick one up at Walmart or Walgreens (there is literally a Walgreens on every corner.....they're EVERYWHERE) when you arrive in Orlando, but the park price is really pretty competitive.

We found most of the items at the DC gift shop are actually pretty reasonably priced. Picked up a wonderful men's bucket hat for my balding DH that he LOVED....and it was $24.99 on for $10. He declared it one of the best souvenirs of the trip.

I would have thought that it would be much more expensive inside DC... $14 is not bad at all imo
