hi all!

dh, ds (14 months) and i are making our first DVC trip in 28 days!

when you arrive, are there mickey soaps provided in the dvc rooms? we'll be staying in a studio and i'm trying to plan what i need to pack.

1 Mickey face and 1 Bath soap.
1 reg coffee, 1 decaf
1 shampoo 1 cond

A few basic paper products plates, bowls, plastic ware.

You only get refills of these once a week... so we always bring 1 shampoo and 2 condi with us, due to 3 in the room, 1 is not enough for 3 people for a week.

Day 4 they change your towels and empty trash and I have had them bring new soap before, but it is random if they do or do not. I think they are not suppose to, but sometimes they do anyway.

HAVE FUN!

thanks! i wonder if there will be enough cups and bowls for us to have cereal everyday?

Not usually. Sometimes you only get four. You can request more. The coffee mugs are ceramic and the glasses are glass. Bowls, plates are paper.

If you stay seven nights or fewer, you will get these supplies replenished, towels replaced and trash removed on day 4 with checkin as day 1. If you stay eight nights or more, you get a full cleaning on day 4 and trash/towel service on day 8.

You will also only get about 4 of each type of plasticware- so if you are planning cereal everyday be ready to wash those or bring more. There is no knives other than the plastic ones- so I tend to take along a sharp knife in case I need it for anything (we generally stay in studios).

We will be taking our first DVC trip in March as well. We are staying in a 2 bdr at VGC. Will each bathroom have all those as well? Also what about dish washing soap and such?

You get a bottle of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel for each bathing location. So the tub gets this and the shower also gets it. You'll have hand soap for each sink. You'll have dishwashing liquid (usually a small bottle) and dishwashing detergent (at least one or two single use pouches). You'll get one single use box of Tide regular for your washing machine (None in the studios).

I am so glad that I read this. I must have missed this in previous posts but I thought when people were talking about the plates and bowls and such I thought that they were ceramic and/or washable! Its going to be interesting since Ill be making American Chop Suey one night.

Do most of you buy extra bowls and plates?

If you want to more cooking in the microwave rather than warming, you'll need to bring your own dishes to do that.

Studios are the only ones with paper/plastic. 1 bedrooms and larger have regular dishes and silverware. If you are in a studio and run out of paper/plastic, mousekeeping will give you more at no charge. We have never been charged for extra bath soap, shampoo if we needed it before trash/towel or cleaning day, though I think that the member website says there is a charge. We always ask for a bar of soap to keep at the kitchen sink for washing hands.

Are the soaps and shampoo the same size as when you stay paying cash? Or are they a little larger to accomodate 4 days of use?

THANK YOU! You just turned my frown (not really but kind of) upside down :goodvibes We are, in fact, staying in a one bedroom so thats perfect and much easier for us!

They should replenish soap, shampoo, the paper plates (etc) and change out towels on the Trash and Towel day. For a 1 BR or larger they should also replace the box of clothes washing detergent. I know sometimes they do and sometimes they don't though but you can call. I've read of people asking for more plates and getting them. I don't recall of anyone saying they were told no or charged for them. You can often ask for things not in the studio but in normal inventory and they will bring them. Early in our ownership, when we were staying mostly in studios, we had a box made up just for items we needed to cook, grill, etc. You can ask for extras of soap/shampoo and the like but they are supposed to charge you for additional.
