I will be at WDW Jan.4-9 and I was wondering if capris would be too cold to wear? I live in Colorado :cold: where it's freezing and was wondering if I could get away with wearing capris and shorts in Florida, or will it be too cold? Thanks for your help.

Check out weather.com...it gives you the average highs and lows, as well as a 10-day forecast. I guess it all depends on what temps you're comfortable wearing what. I'm bringing a mix of jeans, capris, shorts, with various layers for the top. The highs over Christmas look like they'll be 69 (warm to me!) and the lows in the low 50's (jean weather with a sweatshirt).

I went a few years ago to orlando in Jan. Every weather report said highs in the upper 60's and lows in the 50's. Wll turned out to be highs in the mid 40's and lows around 30. In my opinion its better to be prepared. Have a great trip

Also, accuweather.com gives you the 15-day forecast. weather.com is more accurate than accuweather.com. Which ever website floats your boat :confused3

:sunny: Was in Florida last Jan, I had on must of the time Jeans and sweatshirts. Did bring the capirs but only had them on maybe one day. The days were in the mid 60's night would go down to 30's. How ever you look at it it is warmer than up here at that time of year. But I still had jeans on, but didn't need a coat and hat with gloves.

Hey girl!! Dh is laughing at me because I started packing already. I keep a mix of stuff, shorts, jeans and capris. Capris are great for when the weather is iffy. That way you aren't too cold in the morning, but if it gets hot, you aren't too hot. I am also packing tanks, and t-shirt along with a couple sweatshirts and a light jacket. You would think I am going for a month!! Lol. See you in 3 weeks!

We just returned, so maybe our strategy will help you. We put on a t-shirt, then a sweat shirt, then a light jacket or jean shirt (the button-up type). The layering kept us surprisingly warm during the cooler mornings (in the 40s and 50s). As the weather warmed up (or we warmed up with all the walking), we removed our sweatshirts, and tied them to our stroller handles. Usually the t-shirt and light jacket were fine for the rest of the day. Sometimes we were too hot with the jackets, so we removed them and tied them to the stroller when needed. If you don't have younger children and won't need a stroller, there are lockers available for rent... just rent one once you begin to peel off your layers. :)

Definitely layer. We were there last week and in the afternoon it was warm enough for t shirts but at night it was only in the low 40's and I wore a hat and gloves (and I'm from Canada). We took a backpack with our warmer clothes for the evenings.

It's FL, so you can't count on anything weather-wise. :confused3 I'll second the the postings suggesting layering. That's what we'll be doing. We're packing both the swim suits and the winter coats, and we'll hope for :sunny: .

Worst case the high for the day will be in the 50's with the absolute lowest possible being mid-30's. And in this worst case, things will warm up. Chances are though that you'll only experience 50's, 60's or 70's, so capris should be fine.

I agree with the layering thing. When we go in January (1st week), I usually bring 2 turtlenecks, a fleece, 3 prs. of shorts, 3 prs. of pants, a few short sleeved shirts. Then I layer.

Of course, I check weather.com once we are within their 10 day forecast range, and if the forecast is predicted to be very warm or very cold, I readjust accordingly.

I've been there when it's been 30 and I've been there when it's been 80. Most common is 60's during the day, 40's at night. It's the luck of the draw.

I'm from FL and when we went the first week of December I brought all types - long pants, shorts, capris, long sleeve and short sleeve T shirts, sweatshirts, and coats. However, my DH often accuses me of overpacking. :rotfl:

The best pieces of advice I could tell you is to bring enough so you will be comfortable no matter the temp and to layer your clothing. It tends to warm up as the day goes on.

Ok, I've packed capris, jeans, sweats, t shirts and sweaters. My husband thinks I'm nuts. Ha,ha.

Agotta - I leave Tuesday, Dec. 20, for Fairfax. I'm spending Christmas with the family then flying down to Florida on the 4th of Jan. See you soon. :cool1:

Be prepared morning can get nippy. :Pinkbounc

Ok I live here and I will tell you that the weather can be very unpredictable in January! Especially if the sun in not out and it is cloudy, I am colder here when it hits 50 then when it is in the 20's in Colorado! I ski there every winter. The problem and the difference between FL and CO is the humidity and the dampness, it can be downright bone chilling........my advice is to bring a little of everything, once the sun does set it gets cold IMO even if the temp says 50.

Oh that is too funny. If you flew out the next morning, we would be flying down together :rotfl: Well have a great Christmas, we are headed to the in-laws in Massachusetts.
