Well first may I start by saying hello everyone as this is my first post!

My family and I are off to Disney next week and were wondering what type of coat to wear at this time of year. I am guessing it will be cold but don't wont to take anything to bulky as could get uncomfy on rides and dont really wont to be carrying them around everywhere.

Any advice would be great.

Bye for now
Nichola

Hi Nichola and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2: We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread :)

If you have a few questions it is best to start a new thread for each one :goodvibes

With the cold front that has come over from Russia I'd have a good coat as it could be very cold.

Which hotel are you staying at ?

Here is a 10 day weather forcast. Im not sure how accurate it is though. Here is the BBC weather 5 day forcast.

The warmest coat you have. In January, I had my "Siberia-coat", as we all call it, and I was still freezing.

Also, next to a warm coat, it is very important to have good shoes with warm socks. You can have the warmest coat in the world, if your feet are freezing-cold, you will be cold all day!

Hi Nichola and welcome to the DIS. :welcome:

I second everyone's advice re the warmest coat you have got. We were there over Christmas and although it was very mild when we first got there we still needed to wear our coats but just not done up. By the time we left 5 nights later it had snowed and we were wearing coats, two pairs of thermal socks, thermal vests and as many layers as we could plus hats, gloves, and scarves! :cold:

For some reason, during the winter, it's colder in Disneyland than anywhere else in the Paris-area. WDS is even worse!!!!!! There is always that awful cold wind. The Backlot Tram Tour was.... well... it was awfully cold.

I suppose its because its in the countryside whereas Paris is built up. When I was buying our thermal vests in Marks and Spencer the lady who was serving us asked if we were going skiing. I explained we were going to DLRP for Christmas and she actually laughed  at us (actually it was quite humiliating because she was very loud and just about everyone in the store turned round and stared at us  ), telling us she had been born in Paris and we would not need them. Can't have done her sales targets much good!!! Anyway we stuck to our guns and boy was I glad because we certainly needed them! :rotfl:

I think most of us here know that that woman doesn't know what she's talking about!!! :lmao:
