So, I'm old...what's the difference between a Romper and the mens Jumpsuits that were somewhat popular in the 1970s? Other then the jumpsuits were heavy cotton or corduroy. Although the jumpsuits were usually ankle length.

I think you hit the main differences there. Rompers are short on the bottom like bloomers, and generally light material.
