If you're in a Disney hotel you'll get your room key and your ID card, this is your entrance to breakfast and if your register your credit card at reception - a charge card to use throughout the resort, hotel information leaflet, you may get park maps, sometimes we have and sometimes we haven't, a what's on in Disney Village, and a programme schedule, all these leaflets are available to collect around the resort anyway, I usually come home with a stack of maps.

With 4 nights are you having 5 days in the parks ? If you are you will most definately get time to do everything, I think 1 day in the main park and 1 day in WDS and 1 day to do all your favourites again and then any more days are a bonus :goodvibes

Yes you usually get all the things you need when you check in at a Disney hotel. If you don't automatically get them then the guest services desk will provide you with anything you need. When you go into one of the parks, guest services (eg city hall at dlp) will answer any questions not answered by the hotel information.
One of the big 'must do' things with kids, IMHO, is a character meal. If you are staying at a Disney hotel, your breakfast is included so you could do a lunch, afternoon tea (although I was a little disappointed with this when I did it) or dinner. These things are not particularly cheap but for quality time with the characters you can't beat them!!!
Remember to take advantage of 'babyswaps' for rides the adults wish to do so as you don't have to queue twice for both adults to ride and to get fastpasses for rides kids like (eg Peter Pan) and just be prepared - you will NOT get away without queuing an age to ride Dumbo. Just accept it!!! Have a great trip :dance3:

Unless you have morning Extra Magic Hours - in which case you'll probably be able to ride Dumbo about 3 times with no queues at all :goodvibes

i've been so many times now and i always find the bits they give you when you check in really helpful. you get all the parade times and bits like that on the maps that they give you for the parks. plus times for meet and greets, restaurants etc etc. its really useful and helps u to sit down the night before and look at the rides u all want to go on and make a vague plan of action .... altho i never end up sticking to it!
we're going in 2 and half weeks, im so excited! you'll absolutely love it, as will the children of course!
hope you have fun :santa:
