What to request for 1-bdr at BCV?

We are staying in a 1-bedroom at the Beach Club Villas in June. I am getting ready to call and make some room requests and wanted some help in choosing what to ask for.

I know I want non-smoking.

I have young children so I am thinking it might be smarter to stay on a lower floor - does anyone have comments on this? I am not sure how tall the buildings are anyway - seems like 5 or 6 floors. Is there only one set of elevators?

Do the views matter much if I do stay on a lower floor? I assume if I request the "woods" view that most people try to get to see the fireworks, I wouldn't see them anyway if I was on a lower floor?

What other views are there? I assume a pool view - if that is of the quiet pool, is the pool actually quiet at night?

I think I read there are varying balconies as well. I would love the biggest I can get.

Are there dedicated vs. non-dedicated rooms and are there any advantages to one over the other?

Please help me come up with my room request! Thanks so much!

BCV has five floors with two sets of elevators. One set near the main lobby, the other near the pool and parking lot entrance.

You'll be limited on the number of requests you can make. If NS is primary, make that first.

I don't know why you would want a lower floor with young children. Your reasons are??? Patios on the first floor do not lock from the outside and are surrounded by shrubbery, so you can't use the patio door for an exit other than to the patio. A lower floor would not allow you much of a view of the fireworks - you really need to request a higher floor.

I know this is a little paranoid, but I often think if there was a fire it would be much easier to get my kids out (with chance of survival) from a lower floor. Also if we have to end up taking stairs for any reasons (elevator broken or just taking too long), it would be easier for them to walk themselves without having to carry them.

As far as the 1st floor, are you saying you can only see shrubbery? If so, I would probably want at least the 2nd floor.

The shrubbery is low, maybe waist high or lower, but you can't walk through the bushes to get to the pool.
