What to request at POR

I plan to have our request noted when I call to make our final payment and possibly faxing 4 days out as instructed on the allears site. We have 3 children 11,9,7 and plan to spend most of our time in the parks. I would like a building location near the best bus stop, and of course close to the main pool. Is this possible which building should I request? We are driving are the parking lots near each building or just one central parking lot? This is our first trip so I just wondered what I should request. I realize it's just a request but it's worth a shot. Also we prefer nonsmoking. Thanks for all your help!

Building 14 is close to the parking lot and food court. Main pool is not far from the food court.

Parking at POR is close to all the buildings.

Most of the resorts are not looking at faxes any more. Just call central reservations and have your requests noted. You can also ask at check in. CM's love to make you happy.

Parking lot is not a real big deal as we hope to use disney transportation the majority of the time. What about bus stops? How is 14 situated for the bus depot? Is upstairs or down better, I know there are no elevators but I didn't figure there would be to many steps. Since we don't have strollers or anything anymore I don't really think the stairs matter much unless it's just a ton of steps.

we just returned from our stay at the POR and i had requested bldg. 85, magnolia terrace in the mansion section. the rooms are very nice and just recently refurbished. this bldg. is close to the main pool and has parking close by. we always used the bus stop at the south depot which is the main and first stop after POFQ. by the way we never had any problems with the bus being to full or being the second stop after leaving the parks and we were there during the 4th of july. this was our 8th trip to POR and we love each and every time we visit. i always request a non smoking room, first floor and always seem to get what i asked for when i call central res.. it doesn't hurt to call them back a week or two before you leave to re comfirm all your requests either.

We stayed at POR 5/30-6/4 in bldg 28. It's about 1/2 between the parking lot and main lobby. At first I didn't like the location but after I learned my way around the resort, I really liked it. Our only requests were bottom floor smoking room for DH. I'm glad we had the bottom floor since we had several pcs of heavy luggage. I'm sure they'll do all possible to give you accommodations you request.

I had requested bldg. 14, 15 or 18 in AB since we have three children. I checked in at 6:30 AM and none of those buildings were available. I asked if they had a Mansions room that could have a rollaway bed added and they gave us a room in Oak Manor or Terrace (I forget the name). I only knew that you could get a rollaway bed in the mansions from the boards. Also the room was ready. Even though we ended up switching to GF (we got homesick for GF) they were accomodating when I didn't want an AB room far away from the main bldg.

We have stayed in both the mansions and AB, we prefer AB16 it is close to everything.

Building 27 is great. It's close to pool and food court and is centrally located so you don't get any parking lot view.
