Hi made a ressie for December, and know nothing about the wing rooms at CR. Can you recommend anything to request there? Views? Floors? Rooms?

We simply requested "ground level, poolside" and got a lovely room with a patio, a view of the lake and steps away from the pool. The grounds were beautifully kept. We watched the electric light parade from our room every night. It was a quick walk to the boat ramp and a few minutes up to the monorail into the main building. I do wish we had requested "non-smoking" because the room was very stale upon arrival, but once we opened it up, it was fine. The wings were so peaceful, yet the excitement of the tower building-restaurants, shops, etc. just minutes away! I've probably told you more than you asked....

Have a nice trip.

Thanks LBYC

I appreciated the extra information. I never thought I would stay at the CR, especially in the wing rooms. The contemporary style was never my cup of tea, but I got a good rate, so will give it a try. I hope to try all the resorts at WDW over the next several years.

Can you compare this resort or the experience there with any other? I really like AKL, CSR, BWV, GF, but am not sure what I will like about the CR Wing room besides the price.

Edit: I just looked up old posts about these rooms and some pics. This place looks great! I think we will really like it.

I'm sorry I can't really help with comparisons, as we have only stayed at the Dolphin and CR (and off-site before that). It is one of the "original" resorts, however. CR's theming is fun. I don't think we'd stay there again because, like you, there are so many other resorts to try, and we do love the Epcot/Boardwalk area. We thought the monorail would be convenient as we were only there for a long weekend. People rave about the tower rooms in the main building for the view, but we enjoyed the wings - it's all a matter of personal taste and, more importantly as you stated--the budget!!!

I've never personally stayed at the CR-Wing, but have stayed on the Tower Club. I thought the wings looked fine, I would not have a problem staying in them. I have also stayed at all the other deluxe-MK Resorts. The CR seemed on par with them.

Request a first floor lake view room (I think that I read a post that said they were going to give these rooms to people who booked a poolside room at the SoG, though). Otherwise, make sure you get a first floor room if you want a patio. :) The rooms facing the raquet club also have a semi-lake view.

:)

Our favorite room (so far) at the Contemporary is in the South Wing - room 5111. We were in the first floor, about a minute from the tower (at a leasurely stroll) and steps away from the pool. It was fantastic! And my kids enjoyed feeding the ducks.
