What to put in a "Welcome to DL" box

This year I've decided to make each of my girls (16 and 12) a "Welcome to Disneyland" box for them to open once they get to the hotel for our 5 day trip. But I'm having trouble figuring out what to put in it. It's not going to be huge, but I'd like to have 6-7 things in it. They've both been several times before.

So far, I've decided on:

* A small baggie with quarters and pennies for pressed penny machines
* A Disney-themed pressed penny book
* FroggTogg towels

Normally I do the pennies/quarters in rx bottles and carry them myself, but I think since they're older this year I'll have them be responsible for their own. I don't think they'll need enough for the bottles.

I might also put their lanyards/pins in the box. I don't think I'll buy ears because they like to choose those themselves.

Any other ideas?
TIA!

For their ages, I agree that gift cards are nice.

There are also a lot of nice Disney stuff on Etsy that you can add in the box. Like bows and jewelry. They have Disney water bottles too, those are always good to have.

Snacks are always good and a great filler (put them in the box so they can bring them to the parks, saves you money too)

Have fun!

You can put in cinch bags (maybe personalized or Disney decorated? Etsy has some cute ones) for each girl. Now that they are bigger, they can carry their own things, e.g. refillable water bottle (also can be personalized and included in the gift box), snacks, sunglasses, a light sweater, etc.

I like tons of these ideas! I've also always been really fond of the idea of new Disney PJs for the trip too - but I have a huge obsession with PJs and my family gives them at a lot of big holidays/celebrations so that might not be a thing for you at their ages.

How about sunblock, chapstick in a favorite flavor, fun sunglasses, disney themed baseball hat, disney temp tattoos (if that's okay with you), disney earrings (if they have pierced ears), disney socks?

ETA if they don't have a wallet and you do a gift card, you could get a disney wallet to put the gift card in...

Love the PJs idea!

My girls really like eos lip balm -- maybe I can put a Disney sticker on them! Earrings would be great, too! And who doesn't need socks?

I had bought my daughter some socks with the lace for wearing with her princess dresses. I packed them when we went to Six Flags last week, but she refused to wear them. "I can't wear those here, Mommy, those are my Dusney socks." (With a look that said "Duh!!) She's nine.

What a great idea! I might do boxes for my boys (14 & 11) for our trip in November. Not as easy or cheap to buy Disney merchandise here, so I might need to be a bit more creative. But PJ's, gift card, pins & lanyard will all make it in.

Official Disney merchandise can be pricey -- I bought most of my items from Target, Michaels, that sort of thing. Also found some decent deals online at Amazon.

I am doing gift bags for my daughter 9 and nephew 12 for our surprise trip. I probably went a little crazy, but this is the first real vacation that we have had in years. We are driving up from the bay area. They think they are going to San Diego. I ordered personalized cards and $50 gift cards from the Disneystore.com (their spending money for the duration of the trip). I used Walmart, Ebay and Amazon and ordered disney/marvel reusable bags which will be filled with disney/marvel drawstring backpacks, autograph books, lanyards, trading pins, sharpies, pencils, madlibs, hidden mickey books and things to do in line book, and park maps and a whole lot of glow sticks and bracelets. I also picked up lip balm, sanitizing wipes, and kleenex. I also plan to add bubble gum. I am going to give them those when we stop for breakfast once we get through the grapevine. I also ordered those ears that interact with Paint the night, and two t shirts each (caught a good sale on Disneystore.com) I am going to sneak into our room before them at check in have those waiting in the room as a welcome to Disneyland gift.
