We are going in June and we have two kids ages 9 and 5. Trying to make a list of stuff to make sure that we have.

Tell me something that you didn't pack that you needed or wished you would have packed?

What do you pack to go to the parks?

Extra pairs of sunglasses!!! THe kids always lose a pair, and the cheapest are still close to $20 if you have to buy them there. Last year they all lost a pair.....ugh.

Bring extra sunglasses, hats, socks and underwear. I usually go through double my allotment of socks and underwear while at WDW due to the heat and humidity...I'll change during the mid day break. I usually pack two full changes of clothes for each day. One to get all sweaty and sticky in during the day... and then a different change of clothes that I change in to right before dinner and wear at night. After showering and changing my clothes I usually get a second wind and am able to rush in to the parks again. If you are going for a long trip (more than a week) and you don't have 14 changes of under clothes to bring, or just don't want your suitcase bursting at the seams, then bring some purex all-in-one laundry sheets...detergent, softener and dryer sheet in one thing...just throw it in the washer and move it with the rest of the clothes in to the dryer. 24 loads of laundry supplies in a tiny space.

Extra sunscreen for sure! Bring twice as much as you think you'll need. Reapply liberally throughout the entire day. Especially the waterpark days.

Bring two COMFORTABLE pairs of shoes for each person and wear them on alternating days. Some people bring a pair of walking shoes and a pair of flip-flops. This will let your shoes dry out each day, and also prevent rubbing in the same spots and reduce the number of blisters. I would also search the disboards for some tips on foot comfort while at the parks. Many people suggest moleskin, socks of various materials, padded insoles, etc. There are entire teams of scientists on disboards devoted to this subject...My recommendation, only bring shoes that you can currently walk on at home for an entire day without any discomfort at all... because at WDW, with 9 times as much walking, those tiny little annoying spots of barely noticeable discomfort that you notice on your current shoes at home, will be screaming for you to end the torture with just 1/2 a day of walking in the parks.

Bring lots bandaids, and an anti-chaffing stick (or two). The stick will help prevent blisters, and the bandaids to cover up the blisters you might get.

have someone in your group get a waterproof wallet, lanyard, etc. for the water parks to hold room keys, money, etc. Don't forget the water shoes for the water parks. The pavement gets VERY hot for bare feet.

If you don't mind the taste of the tap water in Orlando, then you can bring one of those metal water bottles. I have mine with a Carabiner, so it can just clip to whatever. Then, just fill them up before you leave your room, and at water fountains in the parks. I think, if you ask at any of the food locations, they will give you a glass of water that is run through the soda fountain filter.

Finally, don't forget the chargers for your various portable electronics... cell phones, iPods, digital cameras, etc. Extra batteries for those devices if they take old-fashioned AA batteries. Extra memory cards for your digital camera, and maybe the cable and software you need to download your pictures to your laptop while you are there. I always take more pictures at WDW than I thought I would.

If your driving I bring cases of water with us. I found a small backpack cooler that fits four bottles of water in it. I also bring pool toys with us that I found at the dollar store. They carry Disney stuff so it works out well for not much money. I also bring back our fan that sprays water for those hot days. I pick up glow sticks at store for those nights we are there for parade.

Thanks so much for the information. We are going for 9 days and we aren't doing the water parks.

Do they let you bring in a bottle for the water to go into or do they make u buy one when you get into the parks?

That is a really good idea about the glow sticks and my kids love them. We usually get the ones with the necklace. I didn't even think about pool stuff. Thanks.

I packed lots of snack food, mini raisins, almonds, juice boxes, cream of wheat, so I didn't have to buy it all when I was there (we had a kitchen so I packed cereal, coffee, and sugar packets). I also packed Advil, bandaids, sunscreen, toys, books but no DVDs. It was cold a lot when we were there and i really regretted not having brought the kids any movies because the channels there are very limited and we were stuck in the hotel days it rained or was 40 degrees, or when they were just tired and wanted to chill in the room.

Just be careful with the glow sticks, it they burst or leak and your child gets them in their eyes, their eyes will puff up and you'll need benadryl to get the swelling back down. I don't even chance it with those sticks anymore!!

Laundry detergent or Purex sheets to wash clothes since you cannot possibly pack enough clothes to cover all of the clothes changes you'll need in the hot, humid weather of June. And don't forget all of the melted snacks that end up on the clothes. While the kids are in the pool with one parent the other can run back and forth doing laundry.

Bring more sun screen than you think you need. Bring after sun aloe lotion in case anyone gets sunburned.

I forgot goggles for the pool once. I heard about it the whole vacation. "I can't believe Mom forgot the goggles, it's clearly on her 3 page packing list" Then DS and DH would kill themselves laughing. Arggghhh Men!!!!

Ziploc baggies save my life! We are always surprised at how often we need them and for many different reasons. (leftovers are our #1 use, storing stuff (bandaids, granola bar in the backpack on park days, wet suits on the day we leave getting stuffed last minute into the luggage) I usually pack my laundry detergent in a baggie in case it breaks open or gets crushed getting to WDW, then I can bring what I don't use back without it going everywhere.

I have a few of these types in my family too! I'd like to see them try to remember even 1/2 of the stuff we have to remember to get a family to Disney! List making Rocks!

I always pack Benadryl cream or Cortaid. Can't tell you how many times that has kept us from scratching after get bug bites. Once in line at Spaceship Earth a little girl was bitten by some bug and starting screaming and itching. I offered our cream to her family and she immediately started feeling better. My husband no longer gives me grief over all the incidentals that I bring.:goodvibes

If you are cooking in your villa, salt and pepper or Mccormicks all spice in a ziplock bag. We don't use a lot of it AT ALL, but if we make spaghetti, etc, we need just a little. Buying it at the store there for just a couple of teaspoons at most is crazy. Now, I take some of those cheap salt pepper shakers you get at walmart for like $1 in a ziplock. Or you can just grab a few packets at a fast food joint and stick them in a small ziplock.

Also, lysol disinfectant wipes. Good to wipe down the kitchen after cooking, small messes, and easy to travel with them.

Dryer softener sheets in a small ziplock.

Coffee filters & small can of coffee (can only if you are driving) if you're a coffee drinker.

If you are driving, an extra laundry basket. I always pack our "essentials" for the kitchen/laundry/etc inside an empty laundry basket. Then, once I'm in the room, I can use the laundry basket with theirs to separate whites from darks :) It makes it easier for the kids when they are done with clothes to throw them in the right basket in the first place and saves mommy sorting time on vacation :)

Last one - stamps, in case you want to send post cards or need to mail a bill or two while on vacation.
