I am starting to pack as we leave on June 16th...I am mostly packing shorts/t-shirts...should I pack a pair of pants and a sweatshirt for each of us or should we be fine with just summer clothes? Also--do you wear tennis shoes or sandals in the parks? Thanks!!

It is hard to say what the weather would be. I'd bring one pair pants and definately a sweatshirt. Evenings can sometimes be cooler. I've been there when I never needed a sweatshirt and other times when we all had to buy sweatshirts for the evening.

I ALWAYS wear comfy tennis shoes. I know some people wear sandals but I would never dream of doing that. I want to walk for hours and have a good grip on the ground. I don't want to flop and slip. I want to be able to walk fast and jump in and out rides without shoes falling off or slipping. That's just me. :)

Definitely bring a pair of pants and a sweatshirt. It can get cool at night, especially after being in the sun all day.

I wear both sandals and sneakers in the park...but i wear sandals most of the year anyhow, so I'm used to them

I will chime in with everyone else and say definitely bring a light jacket or long sleeves.

I also always wear tennis shoes. I live in flip-flops here in AZ, but when we go to DL I always wear comfy tennis shoes.

for sure bring a couple pairs of shoes. Even your most comfy shoes after all day pounding concrete and asphalt will feel confining.
I bring crocs and tennis shoes, and after I switch my feet feel revived. :cool1:

one pair of jeans for each and a sweat shirt is a must, and both shoes and sandle's

Good shoes are a must, we all wear tennis shoes. :) We always take jeans and sweatshirts, you just never know what it will be like in the evening. :)

teatime is correct, except we save our sandals for the hotel.(check one of my tag lines)
Do yourself a favor, and wear tennis shoes that are already 'broken in'.:thumbsup2

Hi there, we were at DL in may for 10 days, 9 of which were very sunny and hot :cool1:....there are 5 of us, and the only one in our family who did NOT wear flip flops was my dh...my almost 16 year son bought his first pair of flip flops after 2 days in DL...he hated how hot his feet were and also hated that when his feet got wet, that is how they stayed for the rest of the day t....if you have comfy flip flops or sandals, i highly recommend them...We also all brought a pair of jeans, and am happy to say that they all stayed in the suitcase :)...Now, we are from bc, canada so do get cooler weather which could account for us not needing jeans BUT for the last couple of weeks have been much, much hotter than anaheim...have fun....

I almost always wear tennis shoes in the parks. But...this last trip in May I bought a pair of Skechers sandals that feel like tennies on the bottom and look like sandals on the top. They were super comfy and I would switch them out with my tennies if my feet got tired or achy. I can adjust a strap on them right across the bridge of my foot and that makes them stay on really well. I even wore them on Soarin' with no fear that they would fall off.

I love my crocs - but I never wear them when I am walking long distances - since the nubby things on the inside rub my feet and really hurt me after a little while. So, when I am in and out of my house or running errands I will wear them, but at DLR, it is tennies or the skechers all the way.

My skechers are brown - but the link shows what they look like. I got mine at Sears and paid less money than the website (about $35). http://www.skechers.com/shoes-and-clothing/women/styles/sandals/product/reggae_-_rasta/blk

I always wear closed in, comfortable walking shoes to Disneyland. And definitely bring a sweatshirt or jacket for the evenings. I just got back and was glad I decided to wear long pants instead of shorts as the weather was overcast and quite chilly at night.

Definitely bring a pair of pants and a light jacket or sweatshirt. Also bring a couple pairs of shoes so you can switch off using different shoes. That helps a lot when you get a hot spot or place thats been rubbing.

I really dislike wearing tennis shoes since they don't allow my feet to breathe but I will wear them for a few hours at a time usually at night when at DL. During the day I've found my favorite flip flops are the Dr. Scholls Shout II. They have a nubby footbed that massage your feet- takes some getting used to but I've worn out 2 pair in the last year. I can walk for hours with those and have no foot or leg pain. I call them my "shopping shoes". I can't wear those thin flip flops out to do my shopping now. Walking thru the mall or Walmart on hard floors in thin flip flops kills my legs.

Since I'm in Az I wear flip flops every day about 8 months out of the year. Gotta have good flip flops!

I'm another one chiming in for the 'bring some pants and a warmer sweater or jacket' team!

And I definitely recommend close-toed shoes in the Parks! It seems like every single time I wear sandals, my poor toesies get stepped on and/or run over!

Have fun! :goodvibes

My rule about shoes is whatever you wear normally - wear in the parks. I used to try to wear tennis shoes to Disneyland and it just made my feet get so hot that I hated myself for it. I wear flip flops most of the time so that seems to work just fine for me.

Also this year is El Nino weather and it's been really unpredictable right about now! The past two weeks or three have been cool and rainy. I see you are going next week and I think it would be wise to bring both pants and shorts just in case - and check the weather.com forecast before you get dressed each morning. It hasn't been super cold, but at night it can really make a difference. You can always get a locker to stash extra clothes, otherwise you might get stuck buying Disney clothing and lose a good chunk of your wallet!

we are leaving on Friday :yay: and I am packing a backpack with a pair of long pants and a jacket/sweatshirt for everybody. I will stash it in a locker in case we need it. This is what I always do. It seems like most times we never need the pants, but it's about 50/50 whether we use the jackets or not. The determining factor seems to be who has ridden a water ride late in the day...

As for shoes, I am strictly bringing reef flip-flops, but there seems to be a few pretty distinct schools of thought here on the DIS about shoes. If you don't have a tried-and-true method, then I'd suggest bringing a few different pairs of well broken in flip-flops, sneakers, etc so you have options.

I normally bring pants for my daughter, and sweatshirts for everyone, and stuff them in the stroller.

I don't wear shoes ever, so I also bring a good comfy pair of reef flip-flops. But my wife can't wear flip-flops like I do, we always bring hers, but she mainly wears shoes.
