what to pack, rain promised

were off nxt wk the forecast doesnt look too good, rain for 4 of our 5 days. the girls have all their costumes picked to wear there is that a bad idea in the rain??? they were going to wear their lily kellies and crocs for the pool, but should i now consider taking wellies for them??

If you are driving and hence have space in the car, take everything! We went last week when the forecast was poor and had taken coats and wellies which we didn't need but left sun hats at home which we did need one day! The weather is so variable from day to day and quite unpredictable (I don't think the hotel next day forecast ever got it right) so just prepare for anything. Or failing that, have fun buying appropriate wear in all the lovely new ranges!

I'd wait as close to your leaving time as possible to decide. I know it's hard - I like to be all packed up with days to go. I suppose it does depend how you're travelling. If going by car, then chuck it all in. If Eurostar, you have a bit more room, luggage wise. If flying, then you need to try and be a bit more picky.

We were there last week too and all the forecasts showed rain and even thunderstorms at times. We had about 20 minutes of rain the whole trip. We flew and I packed jeans/t-shirts for us all, with hooded zip through jackets. It was not cold, so even when it rained, there was no need to be wrapped up warm. I also packed lightweight kagools and spare shoes for everyone in case we got very wet. We didn't use them at all.

Unfortunately it seems very changeable, but I think it seems to be warming up a bit now

thanks guys, we go dis day nxt wk. with school and work trying to get organised!! despite the rain the temps look between 19-23c so will be mild. we are flying. have 2 checked bags between 3 and dd2 has her dalmations carry on case for herself. will check closer to the time and see. really hope it isnt too wet there!!!

I bought wellies for myself on one trip as I got fed up with the bottom of my jeans getting soggy. I always pack wellies for me and DS now. DS age 4 also has a puddle suit from next which I also pack and I take my Disney poncho.

The rain ponchos they sell are great and would cover over your girls costumes.
