My friend is going to Disneyland from April 25 to to the 2nd of May and she wants to know what the weather is like and what she should pack. I told her the evening can get cold and the mornings are just the same so she should wear a jacket. But during the day is it usually sunny, over cast etc? Can she wear shorts, capris, sandles?

I honestly had no answer for her and I didnt want to be dishonest.

I was there in early May last year, and I wore capris and a short-sleeve t-shirt and either sandles or Crocs during the day. In the evenings I wore a lightweight zip-up type Northface sweatshirt (I think it has a thin fleece lining). One evening I wore a dress (sleeveless) with a wrap and ballet flats (I had to wear a dress for dinner due to the dress code) and after dinner, I walked around the park and was comfortable with just the wrap.

The mornings were overcast & cloudy (early June Gloom) but burned off fairly quickly. I would have my lightweight sweatshirt with me, so I'd wear that until it burned off. I also think (can't remember for sure) that I wore a long-sleeve t-shirt over my short sleeve and just peeled off layers as the day went on, replacing them as the sun went down. I guess for her comfort it would just depend on what climate she's coming from and if she gets cold easily (I live in Seattle, but grew up in So Cal and am used to the weather in both places). Hope that helps :)

Well actually im quite close to Seattle being in Vancouver Canada. So the weather is pretty much the same.

Ok so thanks for the reply, CA weather in May is pretty much the same as what you would wear in early June. I know all about the june gloom but I wasnt sure when it started. It really does burn off quite quickly.

Honestly, it really depends on the weather and the person! It could be really hot during the day at that time or it could be cool. We've experienced both at that time of year, over the years. I would watch the weather online-by the time she's ready to pack, there should be a 10 day forcast. Generally, though, it is just as the other poster mentioned, cooler in the morning/evening and warmer in the day. Myself personally, I get cold, so I like to make sure I'm warm for the nights-a sweatshirt and flip flops won't due for that! You see a lot of people wearing a variety of clothes when at DLR, though-some in big jackets, others in shorts! It's always a joke for us - "they must be from the North Pole!" if people are wearing shorts and it's cold! lol It is good to layer clothes, so you can cool off or warm up as needed! :)
