There is me, dh, dd6 and baby1.

Today it is 5C and I am wearing my winter jacket and am still cold.

I am thinking of takeing outfits like: T-shirt and shorts, pants and sweater for each day. I think it might be cool in the morning, warm later in the day and then cool again at night. I am also thinking we might want warm pj's since it will be cool at night.

Any ideas on what to pack for a trip with a 1 year old?

What kinds of things will keep her entertained on the plane?

We have been to WDW four times in January and we are always glad that we have our winter jackets with us. Do not be tempted to leave them at the airport/in your car. It isn't uncommon for the weather to dip into the low 40's, even below freezing, overnight in January. 40F doesn't sound terribly cold but when you're walking around Epcot and the wind is blowing, it gets mighty chilly! We invariably end up touring in jeans and tee shirts (long sleeves pushed up midday, or short sleeves with sweater for late afternoons), and are always glad for a jacket/sweatshirt in the evening. Of course, Jan weather is fickle...we've been there when it's in the 70's, too!

We went one year New Year's Eve and it was chilly. Make sure you take jeans and a coat.

We find layers work really well. A t-shirt and a turtle neck under a sweat shirt to start the day and shead as the day wears on. We have never taken our biggest coats but took poleric jackets when we went this last winter and needed them one night. Most days we find jeans and a t-shirt with a light jacket for morning and night works well. Take a little of everything and you will be fine. I LOVE January. My favorite time to go.!!

Layers is key. And err on the side of warmth, as it is chilly and there's nothing more uncomfortable than being cold. Of course, you can always pick up a few WDW sweatshirts along the way.....we used to take the kids out of school in January when they were younger. REally enjoyed that time of year--crowds are way down and it's a chance to see and do most everything.
Have Fun. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

We did not bring coats but we checked the forecast daily before going and was 'planned' to be 50's to 70's which is the normal for that time. I wore jeans, long sleeve T or light sweater and underneath had on a silky "thermal" undershirt. when it warmed up I went into the bathroom to remove the thermal and shoved in the backpack. We all had fleece jackets from Old Navy and that was plenty. There was 1 day when it was very cold in the morning and we also carry nice nylon jackets (found in the camping section of Target) that roll up instead of cheapie rain poncho's and the nylon jacket provided a lot of warmth (kind of like wearing a garbage bag would make you hot).

Colder and hotter weather can happen but the norm is very comfy w/o big coats to travel with. Unless I knew it was going to be especially hot I woudl skip the shorts becaus eit is so cool in the am and pm.

It's my favorite time to go!!

In our experience, January has been warm and cool and cold, but not hot. There was never a time when shorts seemed to be a must, and we found lighter weight pants to be much more versatile. Like others, we would layer those with a sweatshirt over a T-shirt. Thank goodness we travel from a cold climate in January and have polar fleece jackets with us, because we've also needed those desperately in January in Florida. We often manage to go swimming, though, by going from the pool to the whirlpool and then sprinting to our rooms. The water is great - it's the air that's the problem!

Have fun!
