We've been to WDW numerous times but always in July and August. This trip is from 12/27 thru 1/3/04 and I don't know what to expect as far as weather is concerned.

Do we bring shorts/t-shirts - jeans/sweatshirts - can you swim during the day hours? All adults-no young children.

I'm thinking long pants and light jacket for the evening - please help.

Thanks

All weather between very cold to hot. We've been going to WDW in December each year since 1992 and during that time we have experienced weather of all types. So we take a little bit of everything to ready for what ever type of weather we encounter.Have a great trip::yes:: :wave2:

In 2000, we we chilly for 2 days--long slleves and jeans during the day, with sweatshirts and jackets at night. The last 2 days were warm enough to wear shorts and short sleeves and to swim. In 2002, it warmed enough the last day to swim. Otherwise, it was cold. We wore gloves, and hats, with sweatshirts and jackets for the entire trip.

So far, in checking the forecasts, we're planning to pack mostly short sleeved shirts, sweatshirts/sweaters on top, jackets, and capris/jeans. Since it is cold back home, we will wear coats and winter clothes (hats, mittens, etc) on the plane and therefore have them with us as well.

I figure on "warm" days (in the low 80s, tops) the girls will wear capris and short sleeved shirts without dying of heat exhaustion. ;)

Layers, layers, layers.

A little of everything. You could have days that are 80 and Sunny, and you could have nights that are rainy and freezing. The weather can change really fast in Orlando, and the forecasts can change drastically from day to day.

Last year we had 1 beautiful day. The second day was a little overcast but warm until dark and it got very cold and rainy. The rest of our trip was cool to FREEZING. In all of our nighttime pictures, we have very red noses and cheeks  BTW the forecast before we left had predict highs in the upper 70s and lows in the mid 50s. Luckily, it was cold at home when we left, so we had winter coats.

We're going back this year and, like Danny, I'm packing a little of everything.

Have fun!

but don't overpack. I'm planning on shorts and T's during the day and jeans at night with layers (sweatshirt and light jacket...gloves, hat or hood). I also plan on doing laundry half-way through the trip (before leaving for the cruise). I thought we'd bring a backpack to keep in a locker with warm, dry clothes in case it gets cold or we get wet.

I took both long and short sleeve shirts and pants for my trip a few years ago. Taking the same stuff this year. I'm so ready.

I've been trying to figure out how to pack all kinds of clothes as well. I had planned on mostly short sleeved shirts, but now am thinking of more long. I think the idea of wearing warm weather clothes and putting a back pack of cool weather clothes in a locker is a great one!

We're in North Florida. Yesterday on Thanksgiving, we were literally outside in shorts and t-shirts running around playing. Today, we needed jeans, sweatshirts, and a jacket. You just never know. We're leaving Wednesday, and I finished packing today. I've got a short-sleaved shirt and a long-sleaved shirt with a pair of pants for everyday, so we're set, no matter what. I also packed a jacket or sweatshirt for everyone at night.

We were at Disney Christmas - /new Years 2001. We used both
shorts/tee shirts and one night fleece. Most of time we wore
jeans tee-shirt during the day and added a sweatshirt at night.

The one night (we saw Spectro) we were in our winter coats and fleece gloves. One mother offered to buy my DD's hat/gloves for
$50 (her kids only had shorts and a tee shirt).

We swam twice (at night). We used sweats to avoid freezing when we were out of the water. The pool was heated.

Enjoy your trip. The decorations are fabulous.

Thanks to all. I was so looking forward to this trip. We have been going to WDW since '86, became DVC members in '92 and I've always wanted to go there around Christmas.

There's only one thing my husband enjoys more than WDW and that's Christmas at home. I couldn't believe it when he suggested we take a trip this year arriving 12/27 and returning 1/2/04. I made the ressies before he had a chance to rethink.

He tore his rotator cuff early this month and has been in unbelieveable pain. He can't sleep.

About 2 hours after I posted this question he told me he can't go to WDW in this shape. He once went 2 days after being released from the hospital after have full blown gall bladder surgery so I know he must be feeling really bad.

Now that I know how to pack I hope we get the chance to use your info.

My main concern is that he get some relief. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks again.

I hope and will pray that DH will get some relief from pain he is in.

Your husband & you are in my prayers. May his healing be quick andy may your Christmas be joyous.
