We are leaving in 10 days. We have dinner at Whispering Canyon, Grand Floridian Cafe and Chef de France. Others are breakfast buffets. So any suggestions on your favorite dinners from those places?? :) thanks!

Only one I can answer for is WCC. We always go at dinner time & get the skillet with a refillable milkshake for our drink (on the dining plan). BTW, you can choose a different flavor of milkshake when you get a refill!

We only like some of the skillet food. So we advise the server to only bring the cornbread, salad, corn on the cob, ribs, & pulled pork. The chicken is good, but we prefer the ribs & pulled pork & can't eat it all! The one time we got the brisket, it was tough.

The lunch skillet is different from the dinner skillet - does not include the pulled pork - at least it didn't during the time we were there - that's why we went for dinner.

Enjoy!

Thank you so much for the info :)

We ate at the Grand Floridian Cafe on a whim on our trip in January 2011. We were glad we did. My husband and I both ordered the New York Strip Steak with the vegetables and mashed potatoes. We were on the dining plan, so for dessert we had the Dessert Sampler for Two. Oh my- was that yummy...I especially liked the key lime tart.

We were VERY happy with our meal. We didn't make it back our last trip, and my husband was sad about that. :sad2:

Another vote for the skillet at WCC! Yummy! :thumbsup2

At Grand Floridian Cafe, the pumpkin crusted snapper. It was hands down the best meal I had in January. If it were available for lunch, I'd have made ADRs for October, but timing is such that dinner will not happen. Sadly. It was delicious.

Another vote for the skillet at WCC.

WCC - Definitely the skillet and milkshakes.

Chefs De France - I ordered the Prix Fixe option. I chose the French Onion soup,(Delish!) The Beef Short Ribs ( Not so great. tough and tasteless.) and for dessert the Profiteroles. ( Horrible, hard and no flavor at all.) Maybe if you stay away from what I picked you will have a better meal. ;)

GFC- My husband and I both had the NY Strip. It was good but if we go back we'll probably try something else. My mom got the pasta dish and she said it was delicious. It looked good too.
Enjoy!

Out of the 3, I've only been to Chefs de France. I'm not normally tempted by a breads at the beginning of a meal, but the baguette that they serve at that restaurant is exceptional! We had the salmon, spinach, and potatoes and creme brulee for dessert and they were fine. Good, even. Ah, but the bread was divine! :thumbsup2

Grand Floridian... the snapper or the NY strip steak
Chefs de France... les fruits de mare
Whispering Canyon... the grilled pork loin... WOW!!!

and for dessert the Profiteroles. ( Horrible, hard and no flavor at all.)

I agree. Sure am surprised when anyone raves about them, as they were just as you described. And to the OP: Yes, the prix fixe is indeed included in the DDP.

Another vote for skillet at WCC, we have been to Chefs but I do not remember what I ordered, it was good, I am not helpful there. We have not been to GF cafe.

Yet another vote for the skilled at WCC it was delish I also agree with a PP that the brisket isn't great! As for Le Chefs its not an entree but the bacon, onion, and cheese flat bread was amazing I re-create it at home often!

Great!!! Thank you everyone!!! I'm so excited!!! Someone mentioned to me a duck entree at chefs. Anyone try that?

The duck at Chefs de France was delicious. Just be advised that you will get slices of breast meat and a leg (unless they've changed it since). I don't particularly like dark meat.

Thank you!!! I do enjoy some of the dark meat so I'm definitely excited to order this now!! :)

Yeah, I sold the duck!
The caramel apple crepe is fabulous. I always order creme brulee, but last year I thought the apple crepe would be great with duck... and it was really lovely!

Thank you everyone!!! Is that prix fix included on the DDP?

Yes it is :). Last year I ate the lobster bisque (pretty good), roasted chicken (just ok) and creme brulee (GREAT!). Now one of my daughters decided to try the duck and she said it was excellent. She still talks about it. It was a good meal and good to try for one time (for us anyway). I would go again but no one else except my daughter would LOL. My DH got the short ribs also and did not like them at all.
