Well - my DD and her DH officially put their house up for sale today.. That means that as soon as they sell (and believe me, the houses up here are just flying off the market in as little as 2 or 3 days - in many cases for more than the asking price) they'll be finding another house to purchase and it will be time for us to begin the process of moving in with them..
We've decided to move my DH in first (so people won't become unglued by walking past him and his medical machinery) and I'll be going back and forth - staying with them and staying here part of the time too so I can pack, hold a garage sale for the larger items, etc..
Even if they're able to find a place with an in-law apt. (which isn't looking too promising) we are really, really, REALLY going to have to pare down on what we bring along.. Not much room at the lake house for anything, so I've got to make some hard decisions about what to keep..
If you were in my shoes, what kind of things would you feel are the MOST important to bring? I already know that all of my scrapbook supplies, photographs, and things to go in the scrapbooks will definitely be coming with us, but I'm stumped after that.. I have zillions of books, but I guess it doesn't make much sense to drag them with me.. I have waaaaaaaay too many clothes, so a lot of them don't have to go..
What should I do about all of my Christmas stuff? Like 30 HUGE boxes full?
Just pick out the stuff with the most sentimental value?
This is going to be a HARD job, but things happen, life changes and you just have to roll with the punches - right?
I just feel blessed that the kids are willing do this for us.. I have two others that wouldn't......
