What to Install on New Computer?

My DD 10 is getting a laptop for Christmas. I got a great deal on a Dell on Black Friday. Of course, it doesn't come with much on it. So, I'm trying to think of any fun (and free!) things I should download onto it to get her started. It came with Works, and I'll put a trial of Office Home and Student on it for now and will probably upgrade that when the 60 days is over.

Any other suggestions? Since this is the big big big gift I want to make it as fun as possible since there won't be much else to open (did get a case and a flash drive...any other cheapish "stuff" you might recommend?).

My dd11 is getting a laptop. While I can't tell you what to put "in" it (thats DH's job) I did get her a wireless mouse. I hate using the mouse (mice?) on laptops, they are a pain!

If not already on there, firewall and A/V software or a security suite of some kind.
