She isn't really playing with toys yet. She is the only girl :lovestruc in my immediate family and the baby. She has 3 older cousins and 2 older brothers, so I've always bought for boys!

She has a baby dolly she loves on, if she isn't asking me to put her hat on ;) (the baby's).

I got her brother some puzzles and such that I think he'll dig, but she isn't into that type of stuff yet.

We are on a tight budget due to my husband being unemployed for a while, but we're getting back on track :woohoo: . I am not buying many toys but would like a couple gifts.

Baby bed. If she has a baby doll get her a bed she is old enough to want to put her baby to sleep. Also give her a blanket or 2 for the bed and a bottle and she'll be all set for a long time. (It is a gift that she can use past the toddler toys)

Yes! or the Little Tikes high chair - indestructible! My DD6 still plays with this.

Good idea! Target and Babies R Us sells a doll crib that looks like a Graco Pack and Play, DD loves it! I think the Target brand one is much cheaper.

Also at that age DD started to play with Aquadoodle and Magnadoodle, Target has a ton of stuff at different price points.

Shopping cart to push the baby around and put her in and take her out repeatedly. Get a good one like the Little Tikes one, it'll last her years. Also, they're frequently part of TRU's B1G1 sales so you can get two toys for the price of one. :goodvibes

Or a Cozy Coupe, they have a bunch of different styles now and are part of the TRU sales also I believe.

Awesome! Thank you :o) Thank you, thank you!

I know it is such a silly question but with boys for so long...

Yes those shopping carts are great! My DD also had a stroller like this from little tikes or playskool that she loved-not one of the strollers for older girls-this was one built for toddlers to push around (indestructible)

I also was thinking, my DD had a play vacuum she loved or a broom and mop.
Or play pots and pans and food. Any type of food preparation appliance, mixer, toaster, etc.

The shopping carts were always a hit my house when the girls were little. I was going to suggest bubbles and the fun wands that go with them. Again, always a hit in our house and big brothers can play too! Which is really what little sister would probably most like. lol

Fisher Price Snap n Style dolls/puppies. My girls love them and have been playing with them for years.

My children's favorites at that age were:
* Mr. Potato Head
* Little People bus
* Little Tikes shopping cart
* Magna Doodle
* dr kit

Just after 2, they really started *playing* with toys. She will grow into any of these quickly. Any one of these should be a hit -- and not a bank breaker!

Hope that helps!
