What to expect on arrival in Frankfurt then UK?

Hi everybody!!

My 14 yo DS and I are coming to London via Frankfurt (don't ask ) Having never been overseas before, could someone tell me what you do once you land? I've never been through "customs" or anything like that before.

Since we're changing planes in Frankfurt then travelling to London does that mean we will need to go through security twice?

This will depend on whether you remain in the security zone for your connecting flight at Frankfurt - if you need to change terminals to get the flight to London, then you will possibly have to go through security twice.

My DH has just returned from a long haul indirect flight with a change at Frankfurt, but because he remained inside the security zone for his connecting flight, he did not have to go through any security checks there.
