What to expect in March?

Please help!

Looks like I'm heading out to So California in late March with the family and planning on at least 2 days at Disneyland/CA. We are really excited. I've been to California a few times ( never to DLR ) but this will be the first time for my wife and kids.

What should we expect as far as weather this time of the year? Looking at 4 or 5 days in the Huntington Beach area then going to Palm Springs.

Will it be warm enough to enjoy the beach? Anything special going on around that time? What will the crowds be like at DL?

Any help/feedback/info would be greatly appreciated.

March is spring break. The crowd level will be high. We'll be there ourselves since it's our Canadian spring break. Search for a recent thread in this forum that polls DL Disers when their spring break is - ranges from mid-March to end of April.

The weather will be OK during the day (for us Canadians anyways) but it definitely cools down in the evening. We always bring sweat tops or fleece jackets with us.

Here are some averages as far as weather:

Beach in January? For maybe walking along the shore. But it will be too cold to enjoy it for anything more than looking at it. :)

Hello and congrats on your trip! I live in Las Vegas but we always visit our family in Anaheim during Late Feb or late March. We always go to DLR/DCA and from my experience the weather is cool in the morning, nice during the day and then cool again in the evening. We always take a sweater in with us and always need it in the am and late pm. The crowds will be high as it is spring break time but if you arrive early and have a good plan you will be good. If you use the astpass system well you will ride your favorite rides more than once! I love going in March!

I don't think I will be too much help with the beach part...I do remember going to Venice Beach in June one year and being very cold! But it could have just been weird weather. Try looking at Accuweather.com. It lets you go back about 2 years to see what the weather was like on certain days.

Just click on what month/year you want to view.

But as far as DLR, I went last March for one Saturday, which just so happened to be the first official day of Spring! It was beautiful! Sunny and warm in the day (low-mid 70s) but was cooler at night. I wore shorts but needed a sweatshirt in the evening.

Have fun!!

as far as swimming I am a wuss and only swim in the pacific July - Sept !
