We will be traveling to Orlando the 2nd week in July and staying offsite at Windor Hills. We plan on spending two days going to IOA and US. Any advice on which day of the week to visit , especially as relates to visiting Harry Potter World?

Also we plan on spending pretty much the entire day at each park. Are the meal deals a good value and should we consider getting the express pass? My wife is staying back with our two younger so it will just be me and our 12 and 10 year old but that is still 150.00 for the express pass.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You can expect hot and humid weather and LOTS of people during the summer. It's not going to matter which day you decide to go since every day will be crowded but try to stick to weekdays for IOA. The EP is something to look at but you will want to wait until you arrive to purchase those and remember...they do not work on Forbidden Journey. So if you're going mainly for WWoHP, it's not going to help much.

The meal deal isn't that great of a deal unless your kids like to eat a lot. The restaurants on the meal deal (three in each park) are OK but nothing more than standard theme park fare...except Louie's which is really good and you can't share plates so you may want to skip it.

there is a Potter conference the 13th-17th so the RPR hotel may be crowded with muggles and wizards. It is crazy humid in the summer but it cools down nicely in the evenings and early mornings. I used the express pass for one day only last summer and that was good for me but I didn't use it the other 2 days and it wasn't too bad. the big lines were at HP and FJ, Olivanders, Spiderman, Hulk, and the slow loading children rides in Dr. Suess land. Over at USF, the lines were big at MIB, Mummy, Rip Rockit and Simpsons, The show lines get long but they let in tons of people at a time so it goes fast once the doors open. I would get there early and hit IOA first. If you don't buy the Express pass just plan on one day at IOA to see it all and then one day at USF.

meal plan is lame don't get it. Do buy a souvenir mug if your family drinks pop or tea. Refills are like 75 cents forever and you can share one mug. Popcorn worked the same way too. The pizza place in Marvel area sells pizza by the slice and pie. The pie is a better deal for a family and it tasted ok. Bring some snacks with you for waiting in line like nuts, crackers, chewy candies, protein bars etc. Bring water too and save a ton of money.

I'll be there in July too....I'll be the person complaining about the humidity but not the heat
