How do I go about this?!?
So my thoughts were to run a goofy 2012 but mid year I knew I was not up to it and decided against it.

Now my hubby gave me my present early and it's a registration for the FULL that is only two weeks away!

I have done a half this past October and have been running at least 3 miles a day until November but during the month of December I have been focusing only on the stair climber and not on running!

I have done a full a year ago and know how much it takes to train and feel like I'm not there at this point. What to do? My husband doesn't run but knows how much I love to run, so he thought this will be a nice present.

I want to go for it but what should I do to train these next to weeks?

Any ideas?

Have you explained to him how nice the surprise is but that it takes a few months to be race ready? I would send this post to Disney begging for a deferral. At this point in time I would be more than concerned that you are setting yourself up for a long day at best and an long term injury at worst.

On the other hand, could you run a marathon with 3 weeks notice? Maybe. If you are a mid packer or faster and do not have a history of injury you may be able to tough it out. Though I would suggest that you add 2-3 minutes per mile and walk more than run. If you decide to go for it I would run 6-9 miles today. I would do very little midweek running, if any. Christmas weekend I would shoot for 10-13.. New Years, 12-16... NOTE this VIOLATES any form of normal training practices and I really do not endorse it in any way... other than trying to think about how I would do it. Again, slow and stop if you feel an injury coming on at all.

Be careful.

Oh man. A very thoughtful gift with lousy timing. :) I used this as a teach for my husband and explained that he better NEVER do this to me! :lmao:

I think that it could be done, but you'd have to be prepared for a very long day with a lot of walking and a lot of hurting afterwards. Good luck with whatever decision you make. If it were me, I'd go for it, but I haven't been known for making the wisest decisions about this type of thing.

Thank you for the responds. I ran 6 miles on Sunday night and did 3 miles today. I'm not sure what you meant by very little midweek running but I think I will continue with 3 miles each day and do 10 on Christmas weekend and 15 on New Years weekend. The more I think about it the more I want that Mickey medal. I just don't want to get swept! Which is my biggest fear :scared1:

I have my bib number but how do I know what corral I will be in?
I have done the 2010 wine & dine and wonder how different this is?

What is you number? For a good guess, take the number and divide by 2500. This is not exact but will be close.
