We have the free dining plan and my nine year old really doesn't like to eat children meals, (It all seems fried). It appears that if she was 10, she could get adult meals. I know that the price of the park tickets would increase for her, I really don't want to lie, but would it be OK to say she is 10 instead of 9, I would pay the adult price for her tickets.

We actually did this when our son was 9. At that time we had the premium plan and I knew DS would not want to eat only kids meals so we paid for him as an adult. The next year I had to 'correct' his age in Disney's computer. It was a bit of a hassle getting it right but now that he is 12 it is fine.

Have you already booked your package? If so then you had to give her age which means you can't switch that. It will say on your KTTW cards 1Adult/1Child.

Also just to add the adult portions are huge so I would let her get a kids meal then share what you get with her.

this came up last year. Many people asked Disney if they could age their child. The answer was consistently yes, but you are required to purchase the adult pass.

This is an option (or has been) during the entire year.

I would definately try to age your child to 10...
You will have to buy the more expensive ticket but in the long run your trip will probably go a bit smoother and your child will be happier with more choices, so sounds like it will be well worth it.

Depending on where you eat, you can get healthy non fried kid meals. I don't think my ds ate more than 1-2 fried counter service meals last year & I don't think any fried ts in the 9 days we were there. But, we did a lot of character meals that were buffet, so that rules out kid meals all together. :cool1: Not really much help I guess. Maybe you should up her age. :confused3 :)

Have a fun trip whatever you decide!

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Instead of lying to make your little one younger, so as to get out of paying more for them, you are volunteering to pay MORE to get what your child would really want!

Just my $0.02 though!

My daughter was actually 10 last year, but they booked her wrong in the system ...at the time of booking she was actually nine. She came thinking she was going to get to eat from the adult menu, but ended up having to do the children's plan. Once she got past the initial shock  it ended up working out just fine. She had steak at Le Cellier:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 , mahi-mahi at Coral Reef , same thing we had at O'Hana, and lots of other great dining choices at the TS restaurants. She is a real non-fried food eater, also. We love Cosmic Ray's for CS at MK, and they have roasted chicken which she loves. There are burgers, apple slices, baby carrots, and even some other veggies. Also, there were lots of times that the rest of us just had too much food and she would end up sharing a little of this and a little of that. It worked out great. This year, as a 10 y-o at time of booking, there should be no confusion... so we will see how it goes for her on the adult menu. I suspect it will still be way too much food for her.

Good luck! :goodvibes

How much more to up her age? We are getting 8 day MYW water park and more tickets, no hoppers. Do they charge more for a 10 year old in a room?

Children pay a reduced ticket rate vs adults. Click on the word Tickets near the top of this page to get a sense or the "upcharge".

I am not positive about this, but I don't think there's any extra room charge as long as your children are 17 and under. If purchased through WDW, the price difference for her ticket would be roughly $38. If I were you, I would go through the internet booking procedure just up to the point where they give you the prices and just see what the difference is.
