Hello,
Total Disney newb here! My autistic son has been begging to go because he saw photos of Star Wars Land, and Star Wars is life. His life can be challenging, so I'd like to indulge him in this. Because his interests are pretty narrow (and potential for overwhelm high), it really wouldn't be worth it to spend so much money on a vacation if we get denied for DAS...but as far as I can tell, you have to have a ticket AND park reservation in order to interview. Is that correct? But I see everywhere that tickets are non-refundable, non transferable, can't sell them. So what do you do if the DAS denial just makes the experience too inaccessible? This feels like such an expensive gamble! Surely I'm not alone. Please tell me I'm mssing something. I see that the name attached to a ticket doesn't actually matter(?)...so maybe I *could* sell them? Is there a way to transfer them? Is there legitimish aftermarket for tickets?
FYI: My sons cognitive disability makes it impossible for him stand in a long line, so it would appear DAS is actually for us, but it sounds like plenty of people are being denied anyway. He's verbal and friendlyish to strangers on zoom, so I fear he would not be "showcasing" his disability well enough (
) at our interview to get it, despite actually needing it. (If the interview were in person, that would be another story)
On character meets at Disneyland & DAS: I've some some digging, but it's hard because searches keep coming up with answers for Disney World. I'm looking at the Disneyland app and it appears that only the Princesses in the Princess barn have LL. Does that mean DAS can not be used to meet other characters for whom there are lines? Specifically he would only want to meet ElastiGirl (desperately). Does she form a line at Pixar Pier? He'd also just be over the moon to meet Ember. I assume she'll be gone by September though - but that's a question for a different thread.
