What to do with ticket cards/magic bands after?

We just got back from our first Disney World trip. It was awesome! Now I have 2 cards in my purse from when I purchased my 3-day tickets online. Just wanted to check if these are trash now or if there's some reason to save them. The card numbers appear on my account on My Disney Experience.

Also, we bought magic bands at the park. Those can be reused next time we go, right? We stay offsite.

I do not remember any personal information from our ticket purchases except my name and that can be found anywhere.

You can use your magic band again. It will still be linked to your MDE. The one issue is that the battery will eventually run out. I think it is designed to last a couple of years.

The ticket can be disposed of in your favorite way.

The magic bands are good forever. Yes there is a battery in them. But my understanding is that is only for ride photo detection. They will still work for entering the parks, your rooms, claiming photos, and paying for goods and services in the park long after the battery dies.

My wife and I have 4 bands each of different colors from our past trips. And she has her Figment band. They are stowed away until our next trip when we take all of them to color match her outfits.

There is no need to keep the park ticket card, however I am assuming that the park ticket cards have character pictures on them. I have seen people use these when scrapbooking their trip.

CM told me that the batteries in bands are only guaranteed for approx. 1 year! They said to recycle or take home as keepsakes.

But like davper said, the battery is only needed for ride photos as well as this new thing they're doing on a couple of the rides (IASW and HM) where guests' names show up on screen at the end of the ride. They're not needed for anything where you touch the magic bands to something, like opening hotel doors, entering the parks, using FP and paying for things.

My friend made me a scrapbook of our vacation and she made the plastic tickets look like luggage tags in the scrapbook.

We had the characters on our Magic Bands autograph our bands so I have mine on my dresser to look at every day :)! Love waking up to Tink every morning!

Oh, man, it didn't occur to me to have the characters on the Magic Bands sign them. That sounds like a great idea!

I save my magic bands and use them as garland for my Disney themed Christmas tree.

Anything you touched your magic band to something should always work no matter age (in theory). The battery is the things that happen wirelessly like storyteller and auto-ride photos/videos that will stop working. The official answer is they should last about 2 years. It really depends how many days you were on property but 1 year for a frequent visitor/run into the park local and 2 years for everyone else seems to be how long mine are lasting. Limited bands seem to last the least but I think that's because they are made and stored long before you can buy them.

Anyone know if I bring them to my resort can they check for me if the battery is still good? Don't want to not get my ride photos if I decide to wear one that's dead. I have so many and don't see the point of keeping them if it won't work to its fullest potential!

I use the same magic band again for the next trip, esp since I bought a fancy one.
NOW, I WISH, I had saved ALL of them from the insane 2 years of trips/living down in Florida, I would love to make some kind of chain/decoration with them:P however there is no real reason to keep them, and I deactivate all but the one I'm using on the site.

As for cards, I've kept all my old KTTWC but they're just sitting in a souvenir box doing nothing, there's no reason to keep them
