Hi. Such great advice on here it's amazing. Looking for some thoughts/input on this...

We arrive June 3rd at 9am in MCO. We have a town car picking us up so we should make it to hotel no later than 10am (we are staying offsite). They have told us we can check in early (which is great). My question is which park should we go to with that late start day? We have to take the complimentary shuttle to get to WDW so we are sort of at their mercy on that point (& rental car not an option). What is the best way to spend that first late start day??? Also...

...we return June 7th and our towncar picks us up at 5:15 (7:15pm flight back). Can we squeeze in more park time that day do you think? Is it possible to have our town car pick us up right from a park and go straight to airport? (this was hubby's suggestion tho I'm leary of that, i'd rather go back to hotel and get picked up there).

Gosh i'm long winded. So anyway, thoughts, suggestions???? Thank you!!!!!!

PS I just bought tix to La Nouba for the June 4th show, 9pm - hehehehe! very excited!

I don't think you'd be able to get picked up at the park to return home, what would you do with your luggage?

On the day of leaving, I would do something non-park considering your not going to get a full day, maybe a character breakfast then DTD or a water park. Unless your going to have AP then using the day on the passes won't really be worth it.

On the day that we get in we don't usually get in till around noon and we typically don't do the parks that day either. You'll be tired already from the travel so I think it's better just to unwind, unpack etc. Hang out at the pool and have a nice dinner maybe

Thanks for that. But I do know for a fact though we will definately be going to one of those parks the first day we arrive. I can't imagine not seeing Disney when I get in town. It's only a 2.5 hr flight from NY and it's just hubby and I so, yep, we will definately want to go to one of them. Any suggestions folks.

Also, I don't think they'll pick us up at parks either, so would we be able to visit DTD and get back to hotel in time for 5:15pm you think??? I think heard/read there are cabs/taxis from DTD area....

Thoughts?!?

Thanks!

There's Taxis all over the place. If you don't like the waiting for the buses you can take one. I like to start my vacation at MK and that day shouldn't be a bad one.

We always do Epcot when we start later in the day. I don't like to be in any of the parks mid-day, but if I am it's at Epcot because there are cool (temp. wise) things to do. You could have lunch at one of the WS restaurants, it's much less expensive than dinner.

I would also make your last day a park day, but that's just me. Even if you left the park to get back to your hotel at 4:00, you would still have 7 hours of park time. Be sure to avoid the AK that day because it's an early entry day for resort guests!

We'll be arriving and departing on the same sort of schedule as you are in July. We're planning on doing Epcot the day we arrive--if you're not that big on seeing everything in the WS (which we aren't since we've seen it all before) I think that 7-8 hours would be plenty of time to see everything else. We are also going to do parks on the day that we leave even though we have to have the car pick us up at 4. As for that day, we're just going to play it by ear depending on which rides we'd like to revisit. We may hop around a little!

Hope this helps!

Katie

When it is just DH and myself we start the trip by going to EPCOT.

Now that we have kids, MK is always the first park.

This is all really helpful info. Thanks so much. I think I'm inching toward Epcot being the first one we visit on our arrival. And I suppose we would have time to go to a park the day we leave as long as we got back to hotel for 4ish (they said they will hold our luggage, since check-out is noon).

I can't believe the trip is almost here! Any other last minute advice, feel free to pile it on! I haven't been since 1982 and hubby has never been! Just want to make the most of all the days we have in Orlando. ;)

Hi! I think the best park to go to if you're getting a late start is Epcot. World Showcase doesn't even open until 11:00. so maybe you could head straight there.

If you want to go to a park on your last day, Animal Kingdom might work out well. It's just a half-day park for us anyway, and it's much better to see it early in the day. The animals are out early, and the park closes early.
