Hello fellow Canadians :)

Our family (DH, DS and I, and Mom and Brother) are going on a Disney Cruise and to DisneyWorld in September :cool1:

I was wondering what you do with your passposts and other important documents when on vacation (do you do anything differently on a cruise versus WDW)?

Should I keep our passports in the room safe and then just carry a photocopy with me? or put a photocopy in the safe and the passport on me?
Leave it all in the room? Bring it all with me?

Its been YEARS since I travelled to the US, and that was before we needed passports, lol.

Thanks everyone!

We usually leave our passports in the room safe and just bring our Drivers License's with us as ID. We have never had a problem using them as ID. We are younger so bring our ID incase we are asked for ID when getting a drink. You really don't need ID on you at all unless you are picking up flight boarding passes at the park or for drinks. I feel safer leaving my passport in the room incase I loose my bag or wallet. Then how do you get home???? :scared1:

Enjoy your trip.

Thanks, thats the idea I was leaning towards.
Though I think I might keep a photocopy with my for the cruise though, just in case something happens at one of the ports of call :)

Thanks!

Leave your passport in the safe unless you are going to Jellyrolls. We tried to get into Jellyrolls for my girlfriends 30th B-day and they wouldn't accept out of state DL's. We didn't know this or have our passports on us so we went to Raglan Road in DTD instead.

We keep ours in the room safe in WDW, and I keep the photocopies on us. On a cruise we keep them in the safe also, but when we go ashore we take them we take them with us.:) If anything DID happen at a port of call, you would want your passports. Photocopies are only helpful in case your passports are lost or stolen.

that's stupid....aren't the majority of people there from out of state?

Yep, very stupid!

They lost ours $$$ and three other groups as we stood by the entrance as were deciding where to go. They said to many fake id's were being used and they were mostly out of state DL's, so they made passport's their id of choice.

Oh well, live and learn.
