What to do with my stuff while off ship

Going on my first Disney cruise soon and in wondering what everyone does with their stuff while off the ship. Really wondering about my bag with my room key and phone in it while on excursions and on Castaway Cay. Thanks for any help!

We haven’t done a beach excursion so have almost always been able to keep our belongings with us.

When we went zip lining in Jamaica, our tour guide watched everyone’s bags.

On CC we just put our belongings (including phone and room key) in a zippered bag on our chair. Yes someone could have taken them but we tend to be on the trustworthy side and figure most guests would not want to risk their cruise (or future DCL cruises) by being caught stealing.

We haven't done DCL yet but when we cruised Norwegian, everything got left in the room safe that was valuable except what was needed to get back onto the ship. For Norwegian all you need is your room card. In all honesty, I'd think DCL is safer than a Norwegian cruise line in that respect.

Kyss bags! You can lock them closed and/or strap them to something, like a beach chair. We feel super safe with them. We used our first one for about 10 years before it died lol.

I usually tie my beach bag around my chair if Im leaving it for any amount of time (going for lunch, in the water, etc..). It's definitely not a fool proof method, but I feel its a bit of a deterrent as it makes it a little harder to go through or just grab and run.

On CC the only thing of value in my bag is my phone and Kindle (valuable to me anyway). I just shove to the bottom of my beach bag and leave on my chair.

On Castaway (or any area with a chair), I secure my phone/ID, etc. with a Safego mini safe. It has a cable you can use to secure it. When I'm on a tour/etc., I keep things in a small waterproof pouch or just in my bag, depending on the size of the group and where we're going.

On excursions, you will either be able to keep your bag with, maybe on the boat if snorkeling, or you will be provided with a locker or someone to watch it. I bring my phone, room key, photo ID, credit card, and a little cash when in port, except Castaway Cay. For it, I just bring my phone and room key card.

Just seal everything in a disposable diaper...no one will take that from your bag.

Pacsafe also makes bags that can lock around things; I've got several in sizes from small crossbody bags to backpacks plus they sell a separate lock/cable that you can use on other things. I usually buy mine off their website or Amazon. I don't go into stores very often these days so I've no idea what retailers sell them but their site might tell you.
