booked a pretty last minute Disney cruise for March 5 ..our flight home upon disembarkation isn't until 9:40 pm ..what to do for the day? We talked outlet malls and mall at millennia but with our dollar ..not feeling very inspired! Then we thought of a park ..but lot of $$$ for clock watching. So, we toying with downtown Disney and ?? What? We could scurry off the ship ..but I still think the soonest we'd make WDW would be 11:00 a.m.

Thoughts?

What about taking in some of the fun stuff at the Contemporary resort? Rent a boat for a few hours?
You could visit Disney Springs
Visit Fort Wilderness and do some stuff there - trail ride, carriage ride, with a lunch etc...

I really don't think I could justify spending $210 US for 8 hours in park, because by the time you get there at 11:00, you'll need to be leaving by 7:30 to get to the airport in time for your flight home.

I would do the Orlando Eye, Sea Life Aquarium and Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. Tickets are super reasonable ($39 pp for all three attractions), parking is free, and its an easy drive from there to the airport. The I-Drive 360 complex has much more to offer, IMHO, than Disney Springs.

We checked had a similar amount of time before and parked at Disney Springs and took a bus over to AKL to look at the animals. We came back and spent the rest of the time at Disney Springs.

We were in the same position last year. We took our time getting off the ship and rented a day room at the Hyatt in the Orlando airport. Relax by the pool and enjoyed the last of the Florida sunshine before we boarded the plane

I think resort hopping sound like an awesome idea, could you make a dinner or late lunch reservation at a resort you haven't been to before? You may be food-ed out after your cruise, but you could get a light meal somewhere. You could even spend time walking the Boardwalk if you haven't been there before. And in case plans run late, you haven't spent any $$ if you need to adjust on the fly.

Thanks minnie56 for starting this thread. We are in a similar situation - we leave Orlando on a Friday at 9:40pm (back to Ottawa) and have been debating what to do that day. We are at an off-site timeshare, which we technically have until the next day, so we have the luxury of a resort and pool to take in, but having a full day presents many opportunities, and some great options have been suggested already. Thanks!

We've done this before! We got off the ship early, had breakfast in Disney Springs and spent our time resort hopping, starting with boat ride to POR.
