Hi, my parents are going with us in Dec. I have a brother who is going to come in Saturday afternoon and leave Sunday at lunch. He is going to spend some time with our parents but does not want to buy park tickets for what would be just a few hours each day. I thought maybe he could take them to see the resort's decorations and maybe the fireworks from a resort. Any ideas what they should see or do? Thanks

First off.... WELCOME TO THE DIS!

Resort hopping is a great thing to do- especially around the Holidays. If you plan carefully, you could hop on the monorail jsut before the fireworks start and go around the MK during Wishes. Often, the monorail will slow so it's passengers can view the fireworks with no problem. Downtown Disney is always a fun place to go as well.

There is also DTD. I'm not sure if he is much of a shopper, but you can dine there, catch a movie, etc. Many of the resorts have things going on, like I think at the Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness, they have campfire stories. I think they do something similar at AKL. There is also the Boardwalk. There is also the Electronic Water Parade. And many, many restaurants.

Go to the BoardWalk. It has JellyRolls, a dueling piano bar for those 21 and over, several fine restaurants, the ESPN Club and a brew pub, the Big River. Also there's 'street entertainers' on the planks, jugglers, magicians and the like, plus, the aerial fireworks for Illuminations are in view from several points around the lake.
