Ok let me first start by saying I have a 7 year old and a 8 month old. Do I try to do MNSSHP on the 31st or is it just too crazy? Is it better on the 30th---meaning less crowded? If I don't do MNSSHP on Halloween what else can I do? Does Downtown Disney have treat or treating and is it very crowded? Thanks for your help.

Every year the Boardwalk has a party for kids/adults. I don't know where your staying but at least it is something to do and I think it's from 7 - 10.
They have music and festivities at the Boardwalk. Good Luck! We are in the same boat this year. We have 2year old triplets and we are going to Boardwalk party but we are also staying there. MNSSHP would be too overwhelming this year. Have a Happy Halloween!

This will be our first time in October and we will be there, but leaving on Halloween. From what I have read, the closer it gets to Halloween, the crazier it could get. The locals come on the weekends, but more so the weekend of Halloween. I am not saying not go, but if you could go in the week, you may have a lot more fun. What am I talking about. You will be at Disney. Enjoy and have fun. If you don't do MNSSHP on Halloween, maybe some of the resorts will be doing somthing. From also what I have read, MK is the only park really doing Halloween...

Too bad, because in December last year, all the parks and DTD had all the decorations...

I read on all ears that in 2004 for 10/30 and 10/31 DTD did something. I think there was trick or treating in the Market Place with the CMs dressed up. Perhaps someone was there last year can give us more info but for now....(couldn't resist, had to look up the link *G*)

We don't have kids but I'd love to try to get over on 10/30 however we have plans till 9 so probably won't see much but I'm hoping to catch the CMs dressed up, that would be cool and different. We're actually doing the MNSSHP on 10/31 so again can't make it to DTD.

Hopefully someone will post their hands on experiences :)

Have tons of fun with which of your plans you decide to go with!!!

pardon any typos or repeats, one can only do so much when one's glasses are in another room LOL thankfully i'm not giving driving directions ;) LOL

Hi

We have gone to DTD on Halloween for the trick or treating. Not alot of candy, but there is entertainment at certain times (check closer to Halloween for times of things here on the DIS). It wasn't overly crowded. My kids had fun, they are little 4 and 1 at the time. We had thought about going to the town of Celebration but the line of cars just to get into the town was outrageous, so I wouldn't recommend that. Have fun, what are the costumes?

All Ears had written regarding 2004 that the Cast Members would be in costume. Were the cast members dressed up when you were there? Just wondering if it's all or just a rare handfull?

Were there pumpkins and decorations out for the trick-or-treating?

frankiemom...I think I'd go on the 30th ,but it will probably be a sell out and pretty crowded.

Before DS Erich was in school we always went to WDW in late Oct.and were there on Halloween. We LOVE Halloween and like to spread the holiday out so we went to a MNSSHP before Oct.31. On Halloween Night we liked to DTD Marketplace.

If you follow this link and scroll to my 3rd post it tells you all about what's going on Halloween weekend at DTD this year.

The CM's were in costume, I actually meant what are your costumes!!! I'm not sure if all CM's (like the ones behind the counters) were in costumes, but the ones giving out the candy were.

Ahh! LOL

I'll probably go as Minnie on 10/31 to the MNSSHP. On 10/30 we have F&W plans so won't get to DTD until late. The rest of the group is still trying to decide what they will dress up as :)

We can't wait!!!
