Hello!:yay: I'm sooo excited to be visiting WDW Dec 16th-22nd. This is a first visit for most of us!

My family of 6 (hubby & me, 2 Grannies, boys 1 and 13 yrs old) will depart Disney at 3:15 pm on the 22nd and, of course, we don't have tickets to the parks that day, so any suggestion on what we should do before heading to the airport?

We're staying at Old Key West...

Thanks!!!:flower3:

maybe do some last minute shopping at DTD
You can go mini-golfing
Ride the monorail around the resorts
Hang out at the resort
go resort hopping to see all Christmas Decorations.

Schedule a late breakfast at a non park location like the Poly. Get all checked out and have them store your luggage (unless you have your own car) and head out to a last family meal together. Most of the resorts have a playground so let the kids play while the adults relax and chat.

Go and check out a resort you haven't stayed at and wander around and take photos. Also, if you haven't already, go to the Grand Floridian and Yacht and Beach Club to see the Gingerbread Displays.

Make sure you have a camera and take lots of photos with the family around the resort. I have found that while we have great intentions, our time is so busy in the parks that we end up not getting pictures around the resort.

Do some last minute shopping either at the resort or at DTD. If the weather is really nice go swimming. There should be a locker room area where you can shower and change afterwards if you are already out of your room.

Is your fight at 3:15? R u taking ME back to the airport? If so, ME will pick you up 3 hours in advance, so around noonish. I would either sleep in and take my time packing up in the AM or like others suggested, get up, get checked out and have OKW hold your luggage and go have a nice breakfast somewhere before heading back to OKW to catch ME to the airport.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I think we'll try seeing the othe resorts via the monorail. I'm not sure what the ME is? Is that how we should get back to the airport? Or call a cab? Is 3hrs too much time wasted to head to the airport?

Thanks,
Whitney

ME = Magical Express. Disney's complimentary shuttle to/from the airport. YOu have register for it, so if you want it, do it now! We used it in August and it was great. We also stayed at OKW. You may want to rent a family bike (they can hold 4 adults and 2 little ones in the front). We did this one morning when we had a down day. It was lots of fun.
