What to do on date night?

It's our first trip to Disney and I don't know what there is for adults to do or where we should go....

We are hiring in-room sitters for 2 nights and have dinner reservations for just the 2 of us. Where can we go after dinner? The parks will be closing soon after (there aren't extended hours those nights), so while we might be able to walk around or do rides for a little bit after dinner they won't be open long. So, what's to do after the parks close? And how late are those things open? ALl recommendations welcome :)

Thanks!

The parks have different times that they close. And, if you take advantage of extra magic hours, they can stay open pretty late.

We went for our honeymoon and loved Le Cellier (it didn't have as many children- this is by Disney standards though).

Port Orleans offers carriage rides, and you also have Pleasure Island. It really isn't our thing, and we have never really gone.

I looked up the dates for our date nights and there weren't extended hours listed for the parks we'll be going to those days (we don't have park hoppers).

I'll look up Pleasure Island and see what that is :) Anything else?

We really enjoyed going to Downtown Disney to go shopping. We get up for park openings and don't stay out that late though.

You're out of luck for Pleasure Island. Much to my disappointment, it no longer exists. There are a few restaurants you could spend some time in at Downtown Disney. Raglan Road is an Irish Pub with a decent atmosphere. The House of Blues usually has some live entertainment. Over at the Boardwalk you have Jellyrolls, a piano bar with dueling pianos. Also the Atlantic Dance Hall. I have heard some good reviews on Jellyrolls, but have never seen anyone in Atlantic Dance Hall.
As another option, you could think about Cirque du Soleil La Nouba. It is an awsome show but pricey enough that you may want to do it without the kids. When you finish, you can grab a drink at House of Blues right next door or Raglan Road over the bridge.

If you are foodies, Victoria and Alberts is a fabulous meal. It is pricey, however. But if you like that sort of stuff, it is well worth it!

We loved Tony's Town Square Pizza... Just the right amount of romance and fun- especially if you can perfectly plan it to coincide with the parade that evening!!

Have fun!!

A great place to have a drink and sing-a-long after the parks close is Jellyrolls at the BW. It is a dueling piano bar that gets the crowd involved with those songs everyone knows. You will definitely have fun.

Highly recommend

Thanks for the tips :) I'll check out that link and JellyRolls! We do love to shop too, so a night cruising the shops could be fun. How late are they open? Our dinner reservations are at 7:30 so we're looking at activities after 9pm. :)

Grandma has come along on a few of our trips and always offers to mind the children one night of our trips. We always have a nursing baby with us though, and I do not own any bottles, so baby comes with my husband and I. A few times we've shopped at Downtown Disney, once we went to MK, but my favorite was going to Epcot. By the time we got the other children to bed, it was late when we arrived at Epcot. We headed back to WS and had it basically to ourselves. We sampled some desserts and just walked and enjoyed the details.

What's "date night"? ;-) I think the last time I asked what a date was, I got a whole article on the fruit. Seriously, though, all the suggestions sound good. Have a blast, but leave the dynamite at home.

We had a fabulous date night we had at jellyrolls. Drinks kept coming, we kept singing and requesting and stayed until closing.....We "rolled" in late and needless to say we did not go to a park the next day...we did DTD instead with the kiddies who were up at the crack of dawn.

Not a "romantic" evening---but FUN! Can't wait to go back!
