What to do on a rainy resort day?

Continuing with making backup plans for my backup plans.

Next week our resort day is the day we are forecast to have the most impact from a tropical system. So if Bertha brings in all day storm ones, wwyd with a rainy resort day. The easy answer is bowling/movies/DisneyQuest but they aren't really appealing. Would you stay at the hotel for a TS lunch or character breakfast, crafts and arcade. Or resort hop? Or add a day and hit a park in the rain? What's your favorite thing to do in the rain?

DDs are 6 and 9.

Resort hop.

Rain never deterred me from the parks! Magic Kingdom would probably be my first choice of a park to do in the rain. I would maybe plan to eat a leisurely table service lunch at a resort and resort hop. The movies and bowling would never be on my list since those are things I can do at home.

Unless there is a hurricane warning going on, we're at the park. rain, rain is the time for play!!!

The thing is that we had planned not to do a park that day, so ideas that don't require park admission are my first choice.

Hitting a park in the rain does have it's appeal if the rain is enough to warn off a lot of folks and decrease wait times.

What day is Bertha supposed to be impacting that part of Florida?
We are there from Sat-Wed.

If its light steady rain and not accompanied by high winds, I'd still check out the pools since its plenty warm enough to still swim. Should be plenty of umbrella tables available.
Of course they'll be closed if actual storms are around.

Where are you staying?

I would say for your resort day start off with a sleep in, relax, maybe even hit up the pool (hey, as long as it's not thundering, you'll be wet anyways, have some FUN in the pools!) Grab some breakfast from the food court area, play in the arcade for a little bit, then have an ADR booked, maybe even a character meal for lunch/early dinner.

Bonus points if the ADR's on the monorail line/mk resort area, you can do a monorail resort tour, play around there in the afternoon before dinner, then watch the fireworks from the Poly beach/Contemp area!

My thoughts exactly. Pair that with everyone else trying to get to DTD for a rainy day in the construction mess and I'm less than interested.

Apparently the local weather hasn't discussed it much, but based on precip chances and the maps I've seen, maybe Monday/Tuesday. Weather in the Atlantic, not exactly a storm blowing in.

We are at WL, so monorail line is definitely a possibility.

I'd hit the parks and switch your resort day. If there is a day with a lot of rain, not only is the rainy day going to be super slow, but the next day will be slammed. So I'd zig when everyone else zags and go to a park on a rainy day and hang out at the resort on the next day.

WL is such a great resort, with lots to explore. I know the resort has a tour, but I'm not sure about the details or if its outside and they will do it in the rain. There is a lot to explore on your own as well, with the DVC, the architecture, the grounds, and all the decorations/artifacts in the lobby.

It depends on the resort. Some have more to do then others.

I usually start by looking out the window and then going back to bed for a couple of more hours.
Then when we get up, sometimes the kids just want to go to the hotel arcade for a few hours and I'll get on the computer or head to the hotel bar.

At AKL we wandered around the resort one afternoon. It wasn't a rainy day but we were tired of the parks. That was fun.

There are nooks and crannies to explore at WL. You could do a hidden mickey hunt too with the kids. I think they had a list of them you could ask for in the lobby.

Good ideas. I considered a run to AKL for a meal and to see the animals in the rain.

I keep forgetting about Hidden Mickeys.
