What to do on a rainy day at AKL?

Long story short, we added a day at the beginning of our trip to BLT the week of July 4th and chose that day at AKL. We've always wanted to stay there, but location has deterred us. We'll drive all night to get there (if you met my kids you'd know why) and are doing a non-park day to recover. We had planned to hang out by the pool all day, and let Dh nap in chair by the pool, but the forecast is now calling for rain!

We'll get there early in the am, so room won't be a possiblity at first. Do have breakfast ADR's at Boma... Any other suggestions? Girls are 11 and 4.

We are staying at AKV for the first time in January, but always have a rain plan. I bet the community hall will have indoor activities planned- just grab a schedule at check in. It has crafts, games, wii, playstation, pool table (I think), etc.

Maybe take a bus to Downtown Disney to check out the stores and restaurants.

There are plenty of activities scheduled and as above, I'll bet they add more on rainy days. The CM's are wonderful at AKV!

Plus, there are many comfortable "nooks & crannies" around and about AKL where your DH can "nap off" the overnight drive! AKL is actually one of the better places to be "stuck" by rain!

My girls enjoyed the cookie decorating during the afternoon that t

akes place at Boma. They also really loved Community hall at Kidani. There is also face painting in the Mara. Those are some of the free activities though we did tip the face painter. There are others as well as activities that have a small fee for materials.

Rainy days are fantastic for the community hall. My kids have met friends down there doing the same thing - avoiding the raindrops.

The perfect activity for rainy days: Monorail hopping! Make it a goal to grab as many pressed pennies as possible from CR, Poly and GF! Maybe brave a few drops and take the boat to WL & Ft W. if it's not pouring too hard.
