Alrighty so I've been playing around with my ADR's as my call in date is fast approaching (Dec. 8 :woohoo:) Now my original plan was to do 50s Prime Time for dinner on our DHS day then earl of sandwich or wolfgang puck (CS) for dinner after AK on that day

HOWEVER I'm not sure how well my friend will enjoy the atmosphere of 50s PT, as she can be pretty quiet and reserved in new situations (and she's never been to WDW)

so my 2nd option is to just do snacks and CS meals all day at DHS (which coincidently will most likely be a Star Wars Weekend) then hit up Boma or Sanaa at AKL after AK on the way to DTD (as the only place on the list for the DDP in DTD so far is Cap'n Jacks )

So friendly disney food critics which would you suggest we do keep 50s PT, or catch a bus to AKL on the way to DTD???

I would definitely say stick with 50's. I wish we would have done it on our first trip b/c it really gives the Disney experience! Plus, AKL is a pain to get to en route to DTD.

I'm a little confused by your plan. It sounds like you are planning to do DHS, AK, and DTD in one day. Although, I have done that plan before with no problems, it might be a lot for someone who has never been to WDW before.

I agree about getting rid of 50's if you think it might be too much for your friend. Maybe your plan could be something like this? (I dislike the CS options at DHS, so that's why I put lunch in AK but that would depend on how timing worked out)

DHS
AK- Lunch at Flame Tree BBQ or Yak and Yeti CS
Go to AKL for dinner- I love Boma, but have not been to Saana. Either would probably be great options!
Take a bus to DTD (as long as you're not too tired)

Have fun making your ADRS!! :goodvibes

Sorry for the confusion...AK and DHS are on different days, they are just the ADR's I'm willing to mess around with right now lol

and HOW difficult is it to get from AK to AKL to DTD?

Oh, Ok! :thumbsup2

Then, I would switch to doing Boma or Saana after your AK day. It's so worth it just to see the hotel and walk around.
Maybe look into another TS at DHS for your DHS day if you are really concerned about 50's? OR book something on the Boardwalk since it's not a long walk?

Also, when I stayed at AKL, I had no problem with transportation to DTD.

I would keep 50's on your DHS day. It is pure Disney and fun for a newcomer to see. The staff is very good at judging who wants to play along.
We also like the food. It is not gourmet, but good "comfort" food.

Additional restaurants are nearly guaranteed to come on board the DDP in DTD before the first of the year. This occurs every year. The non Disney owned restaurants sign their contracts at the end of the year. If there is another restaurant in DTD that interests you, it is pretty safe to assume that if it is on the DDP this year, it will be next as well. Worse case scenario, one you book turns out not to be, you could cancel your ADR.
BTW, we love Raglan Road and go every trip
Have Fun
