What to do in Nassau with a 5y/o???

I would at least take him off the ship for a little bit..let him get his picture with the giant Senor Frog statue at Senor Frogs, take some pics of him on the beach and around town. Let him mail a postcard back to himself.

Then I would take him back on the ship and you go and enjoy yourself!

I took my dds (5, 12) to Blue Lagoon Beach where we enjoyed a few hours in the water and then lunch. After lunch I took the girls back to the ship to their clubs and then I did some shopping in town.

Do what we did - stay on the ship!

Since most people rush off the ship, you feel like you have it all to yourselves. The pools are not crowded, enjoy a nice sit down lunch, take in a movie, or do one of the many activities offered on board.

We did get off and walk around a bit but headed back after about 45 minutes. We just did not see much that interested us.

After about 45 minutes we had seen enough too and headed back to the ship. There is not much for a young kid there unless you are goign to go over to Atlantic and the beach. We took a horse and carraige ride and it was way to nervewracking for me, was worse than a NYC cab ride!! The straw market was not fun, the aisles were way to small to push a stroller though, they would have been wide enough if the vendors hadn't had a lot of there stuff stacked in front of the booths....after one aisle there you have seen it all, they all have the same thing! And I don't ever want to hear "Lady you want your hair braided" again LOL!

We were thinkin gof taking our two children (who are ages 5 and 7 at the time) to go swim with the dolphins. Has anyone done this? will kids enjoy it?

Thanks!

I have heard good things about the pirate museum. It is walking distance from the ship so you could do a little exploring... then head back to the ship when you have had enough.

We are cruising in August and I have a 6 and 10 yr old...We are going to stay on the ship and enjoy it. :)

We are sailing on the Wonder June 13,2004. We are doing the Dolphin encounter with our DS7 and DD5. It is an encounter not a swim. Which means that you are in waist deep water and 5 year olds are allowed. You must be over 5 to do the swim. We booked through Shoretrips.com instead of Disney. Since we are not going with the big Disney group we can get a more specific time instead of having to go all day. That way we can enjoy time on the ship also.

The pirate museaum is great a short 10 minute walk to it and my kids 4 & 6 loved it!!!

Either stay on the ship (except for getting off of the ship to take a quick pic with him (so he has proof that he's been to a forgien country). The other thing would be to go to the Dig at the Atlantis resort. It's a huge themed aquarium. Most kids I know love animals and this is one of the best aquariums I have ever seen. Beats anything at Sea World (but you gotta love Sea Worlds shows!!)

Ciadria - please tell me about Blue Lagoon Beach. How did you get there, where is it and did you do this on your own. Would you do it again?

If we do the 4 day (no 7 day for summer 05 - will probably go to CA). We would like to spend the day at the beach or at a resort with pool and/or beach. Thanks.
