Next time we go I want to visit Celebration, FL to see what it is like! I have looked on their website but can't find a lot of info. What have you done when you go there? Drive around? Are there cute shops?

I drove in there, but only because I saw the Post Office signs off the main road and I wanted to get my post cards mailed. Anyway, the post office was still a couple miles in and right at the center of the town. My impressions is that its a very nice and quaint little place. Everything is very well maintained and looks super clean. No satellite dishes or electric poles/wires. Their downtown is reminiscent of small town downtowns with little shops and restaurants. There was a lake and people were sitting in rocking chairs by it. Next time we have a rental car, we will definitely spend some more time there and walk around...:thumbsup2

There is a cinema (2 screen) - you can look at the shops, enjoy a coffee by the lake or eat in one of the lovely cafes or restaurants. On a Sunday there is a small farmers market.

At Christmas they have 'snow' nightly on Main Strret & it is great to see all the houses decorated.:)

The dowtown area is really cute. There are some cute shops to look through and there is a really good cafe restaurant there as well. When ever we visit WDW with my parents we always have to make a stop in Celebration for my mom. We walked around a bit outside the downtown area and people were riding the 4 person bikes that look like little buggies and there is a nice lake to walk around as well. At Christmas time the snow nightly is really neat. When we were there the kids were sliding down the street through the snow!
Also, the neighborhoods surrounding the downtown area are beautiful!

We love the food at two restaurants on the waterfront -Columbia (1905 salad, black bean soup and cuban sandwiches) and Antonios (pizza and pastas). There is a Kilwins ice cream shop and bike shop that offers Segway tours also. I think a quick trip around the lake on a segway is only about $15.

There are many annual events that are not to be missed. On 4/19, an exotic car show as well as the National Pie Festival will be held downtown. Who can turn down an all-you-can-eat pie buffet for only $10?

The lake is well stocked with fish and a great catch and release fishing spot (so we've been told). We just enjoy sitting in the rocking chairs along the shore. Next trip, we may walk some of the extensive trail system around the lake.

We refer to Celebration as "Toon Town". It is a bit like a movie set to us, but as I get older, its appeal grows on me.

Well, at least you didn't call us Stepford. :upsidedow

There is a restaurant that my family loves down there. It's a pub and grill type of place with a patio that has rocking picnic tables. The food is good, and if you go for Sunday brunch the prices are great. At least, they were last time we went on a Sunday!

It's a really nice way to spend a more relaxing few hours!

It's called Celebration Town Tavern...I just looked it up on that Celebration link one of the posters gave. Here is the website.

It's actually a New England Style restaurant, but I've only ordered the brunch or the spicey chicken sandwich if we can for lunch. I'm not sure if anyone else ordered the New Englandy stuff when I went with them, but everyone always likes it when we go! Pair the brunch with the farmer's market, and you've got your morning set!

The Town Tavern is a great place to sit outside and have a little dinner. They have about 100 different types of beer, so that's a good thing. The food is very good, we always eat outside and people watch. Right next door is the Market St Cafe. the food is also good, and dogs are welcome on the patio, they even have their own doggie menu!!

We just returned last week from buying a house in Celebration...can't believe I'll be living there in 2 months! There is a lot to do in Celebration. One of the really neat things are miles of nature trails throughout the town. They are wooden walkways all built above ground, and they wind through nature preserves. Beautiful! I actually got to see my first alligator in a pond! It was one of the highlights of our trip! All the restaurants downtown are awesome. Stroll through the Celebration Hotel downtown too...it's gorgeous!

Welcome to Celebration!! You're gonna love it. did you spend much time here before deciding to move?

I'm so excited for our trip next month because we are spending a few evenings in Celebration for dinner, shopping and just strolling around. I've known about Celebration for about 10 yrs and at first my family and I use to just drive around and think that you had to be a billionaire to live there but I was surprised to see they have some very affordable homes. Two years ago when my husband and I bought our first home if we would have known that we could have bought a home there and be closer to Mickey we would have jumped at the chance. But alas we had no idea. I'm sorta glad we don't live there cuz I think I'd just about drive my family bonkers wanting to go to the parks every other weekend.

No matter, I'm very excited about the time we'll be spending in Celebration this May.

Thanks for the welcome to Celebration! I first visited in 1997 when the town was in it's infancy, and vowed one day I would live there! Moving first week of June and can hardly keep from climbing the walls waiting to get there! How long have you been there? Email me sometime if you like!

Welcome to your new home. :flower3:

all great suggestions...add a drive around inside the neighborhoods just to oooh and aaaaah at the homes...Drive till you get lost!...and you see some incredible homes, especially around the outside roads of the golf course...
I do not think any two homes are alike...but there is some incredible fun real estate to see...

enjoy...ted

Hi Ted,
Since I have never been is there a certain route I should follow to see the great homes? How big is Celebration?
