Thought I would ask the experts here on this board. You helped me out tremendously with my digital camera. I have a cable, modem hook-up at home for my internet service. I got a new laptop (love it so much!!) and would love to bring it along on my trip to visit my sister at her new condo at Disney's Celebrations community. I leave in 6 days! :Pinkbounc

My question is, is there a free or cheap dial-up internet connection I could use while on vacation?

Thanks, Beth

i am also wondering this...but also for those who don't bring a laptop. we'd like to do online check-in for our return flight. do some resorts have internet access?

If you contact your ISP, they should be able to give you a 407 dialup access number you can use while you're in Orlando; that won't cost you anything extra except the hotel access charges.

Hi-speed and wireless are a bit more complicated. Several of the WDW resorts now have wireless that you can buy per-day access to. S&D have hi-speed in their rooms, the price is covered as part of the resort fee.

As to online checkin/boarding passes, the concierge &/or desk staff can do that for you; you just need to show them your confirmation page and an ID. (I always tip for this service if the Concierge does it for us.)

Kinkos was cheapest for those without a laptop, and also has a Hotspot for WiFi:

12181 S Apopka Vineland Rd
Orlando, FL 32836-6802
USA
Phone: (407) 465-0085
Fax: (407) 465-0442

Was always busy with vacationers!

Otherwise I believe it's $10/15 minutes to use a computer at Disney business centers.

As NotUrsula suggests, contact your broadband ISP and ask for a local dial up number for the 407 area code. If they don't have one, you might have to use their more expensive 800 number.

Before that, I would sign up with AOL for a free month of dial up and cancel it right after the vacation. I don't think you even need a credit card for the free month, just a home phone number.

HTH, Steve

You would need to have your own lap top and go to the resorts that have conventions to use their hook ups.

There are business centers in several of the Disney convention hotels. Computer time is $10 for 15 mins. CSR is one of them. They also have printers that you can use. You are charged for the prints.
