We have a 4 year old dd and a 5.5 year ds. Mom and dd will have a girls lunch as a special treat at the Castle. (We are on the dining plan) What are some of the thinks boys like (he is not into Pooh etc.) with Dad?

In advance, thanks for your ideas!

How about if dad and son run around and explore Tom Sawyer's Island? My ds the same age also LOVES to go to Jungle Cruise and do the remote control boats. There's also the shooting gallery....

Ds could go on the Pirate Cruise that leaves from the Grand Floridian. Only the children got on the cruise so DH could enjoy the resort and maybe shop for so "special" gifts.

The cruise is from 9:30 until 11:30 and the kids are few a light lunch. Depending on the ime of your ressies for lunch with Cindy the timing could work out nicely. Dh and DS could hop on the monorail to get to MK and meet the both of you when you are done.

Another idea would be for DH to take DS to the Barber Shop on Mainstreet in the MK for an extra special cut with sparkles or gel.

I'm sure DS will have fun doing whatever you decide.

How about a visit to the barber shop on main street:wizard: ...for a cut and sprinkling of pixie dust.

Our boys went and rode Buzz lightyear and any other rides they thought were fun.

We did the CRT breakfast a few years ago. The girls went to the castle before opening and the boys waited at the rope. The CM asked them what their favorite ride was and they said Buzz Lightyear. She led them to Buzz and they got to ride over and over. My husband still talks about how cool that was (Buzz Lightyear is his favorite ride too!). They definitely had just as much as fun as we had, maybe even more!

Is he tall enough to conquer all of the mountains at MK? (Splash, Space and BTMR?) I believe there is an arcade in Tomorrowland...isn't that heaven for a boy to have a supply of tokens and loud, buzzing video games?! Or if he wants to do a special meal w/Dad, there is a Lilo and Stitch character meal at the Poly ... or Chef Mickeys at CR. Happy planning and let us know what you decide!!

ok, so I know this doesn't answer your question, but...
I noticed you said you were on the dining plan...not sure if you've been to CRT before, but any meal there is 2 TS. In my opinion, it's not worth 2TS. I think you'd be better off paying out of pocket and using your credits somewhere else. I believe it $35-40 for an adult...some one correct me please if I'm wrong..I'm not sure the kid price because my DD was 2 at the time and ate free.

sorry to get off the original question....

The only other character dining during lunch is at the Garden Grill at Epcot with mickey and friends if that is what you are looking for. Does your ds and dh like to fish if they do they could go over to the wilderness lodge and go fishing.

I haven't been to CRT since they changed it ( don't know if its gotten "girlier") but we did go in Nov 2005 - it was DH, myself, my parents and our two little boys, who were 3 and 6 at the time. We went for dinner and my BOYS LOVED IT :) My older one was so funny - blushing when Cinderella leaned down to speak to him. :flower3: The boys were VERY impressed with eating inside the Castle - even with just going inside the Castle - it is pretty cool - and there was speculation as to whether our waiter was a knight :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Anyway , I thought it was just so cool in there and didn't know when we'd ever be back so I figured I could talk them into it when they were so little. Honestly, though, I am considering it again when we go back (hopefully my boys will still be 5 and 8!) ... I STILL think they'd like it - although I'm hesitant about using 2 TS credits, so maybe thats what you are thinking. Beyond all that, Buzz Lightyear is the hands down favorite among the "little boy" set, so maybe your DH can take him there - believe me, he'll want to go again & again :goodvibes
