Women only trip starting soon! But...we're not getting there til about 6 in the evening.. anyone have any great ideas fir something to do after dinner?? The parks will be closed by then...BOO HOOO :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Head to DD, have dinner, look around & get to bed early so you can be up bright & early the next morning. ;)

I would just relax by the pool with a drink for awhile and then turn in for a funfilled next day.

Downtown Disney is a great place to begin your vacation! I love to shop (much to the dismay of DH) and this is just a haven for me!!

You may also want to walk around your resort and check it out, get familiar where everything is.

If you are staying on property, you may even want to just relax and watch the Disney information channel....I just love to watch this on our first night!!

We got in our resort and settled around 7ish...and decided to go to MK and just walk around and watch the fireworks...we didn't have a schedule that night...just shopped and relaxed. We did happen to walk straight onto the Pirates ride & Haunted Mansion without a wait. It was a fun way to start out....and then we hit DTD the next morning.

no matter how early we leave, LOL! One year we took a 7 AM flight to take advantage of the parks the same day, and we were all so tired from the lack of sleep the night before, the travel stress, etc, it wasn't quite as magical as it would have been if we waited till a little later. So, we now fly a bit later. By the time our plane takes off & lands, we get the car, get to the resort, we are usually ready to go to the food court, check out the gift shop, and settle into the room for the night, maybe watch a little resort tv. If you are still excited and full of energy, DTD or PI is the way to go. This year, we will be spending a few days in another part of FL first, then driving 3.5 hours to Orlando (actually DH will be driving). My vote is to start out early for DW, check in and rest a bit, then hit the parks, but he has a different idea! He wants to visit his family in the AM, maybe bkfast with them, then start the drive. Oh well, maybe I'll at least get to go to DTD for DD1's Pal Mickey. Have Fun!

Oh, sure, you could just go to bed early and rest in preparation for the next day... or, you could say what I do: I'll sleep when I'm dead (or back at the office!).

One of my favorite things to do after checking in is to head over to the Boardwalk. Stroll around, maybe grab a quick bite to eat, and then head to Jellyrolls. A bunch of gals out for a night on the town? Oh, yes, I'd definitely suggest Jellyrolls! All singing, all laughing, all fun, all the time!

Have a great time!

Oh, girls only trips are THE BEST!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc Have fun!!!

We usually go to DD first, and soak in the Disney atmosphere. However, this year, we are going to go outlet shopping 1st, so I can get the goodies on sale, and not pay full price for the same items that are in the parks! And, then we will head over to have dinner at Ohana, and watch the fireworks & EWP from the beach!

Enjoy your trip!! ;)

A ladies only trip sounds like fun to me too.... we usually head into Epcot if we make it in time to watch illuminations...I think you said the parks would be closed by the time you get there.. How about heading to the Swan for Karaoke... the fun starts at 9:00 every evening......good drinks, fun and sushi if you are so inclined..or just hanging out on the Boardwalk is always fun at night... :)

PS.... Iansmom... Welcome to the Dis.... it is great fun here and we try to answer all questions to the best of our ability.... :)

Usually check in
have a drink to relax and maybe stroll around the resort.

Get to bed early

If you have a length of stay pass, go to Epcot. Thats what we are doing. Just seeing Illuminations will get us in the Disney mood for the next day.

1) Check in

2) Relax a bit

3) Have nice dinner at Cal. Grill.

4) Hit the parks the next day

Girls only? Sounds like heaven. Head over to DD, get a drink and food (optional), and SHOP. Just think about it, shopping without DH or kids whinging about being bored. Have a great time

Welcome, iansmomm!

If you're anything like DW and I, you won't have slept well the night before, you'll be soooo excited and the adrenaline will be coursing through your veins. So on the evening on arrival day, think about taking it a bit easy; wander around resort, have a drink, make your plans and rest up - you'll need it.

What are we doing on our arrival day (flight departs 7AM)?

We're going out to dinner at 'Ohana - and then to Pleasure Island - with our new DIS friends ScarletIndigo and her DF!

Do as I say, not as I do! :jester:

first night? mmmmm what should you do?...mmmmm wallow in the glory of it all - soak it up - relax - just hang - maybe go hit some fireworks, have a nice dinner, and make or review preparations for your first day
