What to do at Vb in April?

We've decided to make our first trip home from next April to VB.

Having 2 small children (2 & 3 yrs), we figure that we'd try VB next year while the kids are little.
As they get older, I'm sure they'll want to be at WDW.

I'm assuming that VB will be more low key than if we stayed at WDW.
We were at WDW this April during school vacations and it was pretty crowded.

What can we expect at VB in April.
What types of activities can we do as a family?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Vero Beach as a whole (not just Disney) is a winter resort and April is the prime month. Therefore, everything will be in full swing with all the snowbirds in residence. (It's a very upscale area...no college Spring Break parties to worry about). It will also not be anything like being at WDW in terms of crowds.

As to activities for the kids. I know they do all kinds of events at the resort but I'll let others give you the specifics.

For the kids -

- lots of swimming
- beach time, playing in the sand / waves
- campfire
- some entertainment for kids in lobby on some
afternoons

I didn't see any unhappy young children when I was there for a week earlier this year. There were some moody looking teenagers, who probably wanted more activity and night life.
