what to do after you checkout and have a long wait for flight?

We like to spend time at the pool on our last day. Generally we plan a big late breakfast for after check out time, too. Then we can get something at the pool if we get hungry, and change clothes there. We may not even shower as we always shower when we get home after a flight and airport time ( yuck). We just throw our wet suits into a bag and put them in a rolling carry on.

Okay..here we go...

Water Park day... and you can shower and change in the water parks...

Mini Golf depending on time of year, if it hot and humid... sweaty... I personally would want to be able to clean up before a flight..

Pool Day... double check to see if showers are available at the pool.

Disney Springs for a movie and lunch before heading home...

Head back into one of the parks for last goodbye, lunch and shopping...

We have done this, it was a tip from other friends... and it worked out really great for us... so if your flight day is say on Thursday, book your room thru Friday, and it is an extra night to pay for, and just check out before you head to the airport.
The benefits a few times outweighed the cost... you have to run the numbers...and look at flight times, as well getting to the airport time frame, and being there ahead of time, hotel cost, and who's in your party, and what your are wanting to do before the flight..
Just not having to store the luggage, being able to sleep in or catch a nap before an international flight, a place to have the kids nap, if you want a pool day then its so much easier to go back to your room, then try to shower and clean up at the pool it can be done though, Kids they can watch TV... Being able to shower, and clean up before any flight is wonderful... We did this at the beach a few times, We kept our room and everyone else checked out, we stored everyone's luggage in our room, and as people had to head home, they had a place to clean up, and then head to the airport. We were the last to leave, it was nice to be able to get it together before heading to the airport... We always did this when leaving NYC as well normally had a later flight.. so we could enjoy the city longer...
It's like a transition time, to get your travel game face on...

We usually have an afternoon flight so the last morning is generally at the pool. For later flights, we've done mini golf but water park is our preference if we have more time. It's just a very relaxing way to spend your last day.

Good tips on keeping the room -- we did that once on a non-Disney trip when we were leaving after supper.

At first I was kinda skeptical about it, keeping the room and paying for the room for a extra night... The first time we went this route we were taking a long weekend in NYC and our flight time home was between 8 and 9 somewhere... DH was like "well lets try it and see how it works", We got up early and went for breakfast, then on to the Met for a few hours, nice lunch in the hotel, and took a nap, showered and then headed to the airport... I'm so glad that we had that nap, as our flight was late, and if not we would have been miserable and really over tired...DH and I both agreed that it was worth it to be able to clean up and relax and not have to deal with rushing around first thing in the morning. While it is an extra cost, it is very worth it at certain times...

Our friends travel international quite a bit, they have family that lives in the Philippines, If they are arriving late to their destination, they will stay in an airport hotel, with a restaurant for room service.. then the next day, get a taxi or Uber to their real destination hotel... as well if they have a very early flight, they will stay at an airport hotel the night before, they will check in the mid afternoon, and sleep... and order room service.. They said it is less stressful for them, and they can sleep and rest up before making such a long flight...

Since you don't want to be outside, here are some indoor ideas:
- Splitsville bowling and lunch
- Movie at AMC
- Monorail crawl- have lunch and shop, explore the resorts
- book a massage at Swan & Dolphin spa
