What to do after MK on party day?

Hi! I'm drafting a trip itinerary now for a fall trip during MNSSHP season. I'd like to spend two days at MK, one from 9-6 on a party day.

After 6 pm, I was thinking we could check out Disney Springs for dinner and then take a boat to Port Orleans Riverside to see Yehaa Bob's show at 8:30 pm. I've never been to Disney Springs - is it realistic that we could get there from MK after 6, eat dinner, walk around a bit to soak up the ambience, and then get to POR in time for an 8:30 show? Or should we just plan to visit Disney Springs on our break day? I'd go to the 10:30 pm show but we'll get up early to RD the next day :) Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

I think this would be pushing it unless you leave closer to 4:30 and have your own car. Disney Springs is huge, and the parking lot is large. If you're depending on buses, I would guess you'll need more time. I think you would have to transfer to a resort and then transfer to Disney Springs. I'm not positive about this. We drove a rental and the parking was a little confusing and a very long walk after we got lost in Disney Springs. It was fun, but be prepared for it to take you a lot longer than you expect. I've heard that you should be early for Yehaa Bob's show. Maybe head directly to Port Orleans Riverside and take the extra time to explore the area? Good luck & have fun!

You'll start feeling the influx of party crowds around 4:30 and the hour from 5 to 6 will be about as bad as the worst crowd day you've ever experienced. So I'd be heading out around 4:30 just to avoid the crowds. Taking the bus from MK will be easy, but it will take 30-45 min between waiting and getting there.

As for how long Disney Springs will take, that's up to you. We can easily get enough in about an hour, but if you're a shopper, it may take longer. Just play it by ear. If you've had enough, head to YeeHaw Bob, but if not, just enjoy DS and plan to catch Bob next time around.

We have 3 MK days planned for our upcoming trip. All 3 are on party days. We are doing 1 party so we will be there all day but the other 2 we are planning Disney Springs on one and taking the kids to Pixar Play Place on the other. We found that you can ride so much more on party days even with the shorter hours. Have fun!

Yes, that's definitely a big plus us for going on a party day! I've heard you can get on plenty of rides with short(er) waits. Thanks!

we've done DS or headed to Boardwalk. Both are fun. We've also gone back to the resort and enjoyed the pool.

I would just plan to eat at POR instead so you wont feel rushed

I personally would chose one or the other. I think both would be rushed. Our family enjoys shopping, so Disney Springs can take up a fair bit of time for us. In addition, there are plenty of good places to eat there, so spending a few hours is not a challenge for us. Likely, we would just head to DS, wander around, enjoy the shopping, and have a nice TS supper there, if we didn't decide to just head back to our resort, and make an early evening out of it. Often Disney Vacations can benefit from an early evening, and some rest.

We’re doing a pool/resort night. I’m looking forward to it. Most trips we enjoy the pool late afternoon and hit the parks after dinner until close and while that’s fun, I’m glad we have zero midnight closing nights planned this trip.
