We're really trying to think of some interesting Santa gifts for dd23months. She is the younger of two daughters (older dd4 received EVERYTHING one could think of when she was 2 from grandparents, etc). The net result is that we stil have plenty of 2 year old appropriate toys...and we don't really need more...and/or can't think of anything else. We have instruments, riding toys, babies/strollers/high chairs/shopping carts, puzzles, magnet boards, Leap Frog...so many things.

However, Santa needs to bring her gifts too...any ideas?

Dress ups? You can never have too many of those! It sounds like you have a lot of "girl" toys -- what about a Thomas the Tank Engine set or something like that. I know my son enjoyed his baby doll at that age.

How about Tickets to something -- Disney on ice? And things you use up like art supplies (DS liked Dot Markers at that age, finger paint, homemade playdough) or bubbles?

Just an idea, however how about an American Girl Bitty Baby Doll. They are a bit $$ but they are great quality. I brought my DD one for her 1st Christmas (more of a memorable gift). She is now 4 and she has loved this doll like no other. Bitty goes to school, to Disney, everywhere with us. As your DD gets older, you can build on the doll wardrobe etc...
Just an idea.
:confused3

My DD 23 months is way into books. She will go get books and sit at the couch with them. And a lot of her older sister's books have really shown some wear and tear. Plus, we weren't really into Dora or Blues Clues then so we don't have any of those.

Both my girls also love cars. and anything that you can push along. Good luck.

My DD (2) is getting the FP Geo Traxx train set from NeNe and Papa. (DD came up with NeNe for my mom :confused3 :) ). We also got her the Disney Princess TV and DVD for her playroom. She also got the American Girl Bitty Baby last year for Christmas and is getting more accessories for it this year. Also an art easel. Hope this helps.

Oh, I so can sympathize with your position, for we also have a dd almost 2 (on 12/20) and she is the youngest of 4 - we literally could stock a toy store in our home :-) And with dd's birthday just days before Christmas, we also had to shop for birthday gifts!

We are helped by our Christmas gift rules...only 3 gifts per kid (plus stocking stuff) and we do not do Santa. At least having a specific number of items to shop for helped a bit. We also do 3 gifts for birthday. However, everyone was asking what to buy for dd and that has been a challenge.

We have bought dd some things we have had before, but they were pretty beat up or we thought it would be nice for her to have her own. Does your dd have an area of play that particularly appeals to her? Our dd is crazy for baby dolls, so one of her gifts is all new doll stuff just for her...baby crib, doll, stroller. Yes, we have this stuff is some form for her big sister, but I know dd will be thrilled to have her own stuff.

We also bought dd a fabulous princess trike from ToysRus...it is super cute with a canopy, water bottle holders, push handle for the parents, etc. Another gift she is getting is a ball pit...we have actually never had one and I think she will enjoy this a great deal this winter.

Younger dd is also crazy for the princesses thanks to big sis, so we bought her all of those soft, stuffed princess dolls they have at The Disney Store. DD just loved them in the store. They are cute and I know she will play with them like crazy.

We also like to have a special jewelry piece for each girl at christmas...we started a tradition of buying a pearl (her birthstone) for older dd that is on a gold chain, and we add a pearl each Christmas. Younger dd is getting a charm bracelet for Chritmas that we will add to over the years (great design from a local jeweler where you can actually add links to the bracelet...so dd can wear it now, but we can enlarge as she grows).

My sil is buying dd one of those aqua doodle mats that allows for writing and coloring with water, and I thought that was a super idea as well.

Hope you are able to find some things that will make Christmas special for your dd and memorable for mom and dad :-)

I too can relate.. DS (15 months) is the youngest of 4.. and the 3rd boy, so we have every boy toy imaginable, and he doesnt need any clothes..
We got him a tmx Elmo, a Twilight Turtle (very cute, check it out, for girls and boys) we also got from Disneyshoppping the personalized car organizers that hang over the seat in front of them in the car, and a few other little things (like character plate dinnerware) Its hard to think of things for him since we already have so much

I know what you mean too, My 2 year old is my 3rd Daughter, and we pretty much have it all too. She is getting a new baby doll ( baby chou chou), a new baby stroller for her, a Tea Set from the Disney store, playfood for her kitchen set, she LOVES that. And she also loves Diego, so she's getting the Diego doll, and a few of the playsets. Oh she's also getting mrs. potatoe head, and a Stand up Princess piano w/ a microphone from the Disney store. Good Luck.
How about the new playdoh table, my dds are getting that from their uncle.

What is a play-dough table? I went wandering through a few stores today..but came out with more for dd4 (just a few stocking stuffers)...but still nothing for dd23 months. I wish I had checked back here earlier..I think I'll head out to the specialty toy shop tomorrow morning to see if they have anything unique (and/or some of the suggestions made here). I thought about the Diego Doll. She loves her Dora doll (a hand-me down from dd4). She knows who Diego is...maybe that is a good idea. Mostly she just talks about Dora....but maybe she might like him too.

the Geo Trax is great and both of my kids love it. Also, one of our biggest hits is the Doodle Pro (if you don't already have it)
