My husband and four kids will be at the Sheraton Vistana Resort at the end of November for one week. We booked a two bedroom and it says it has a full kitchen. My question is what do we need to bring and what is provided? Do they provide all the cooking and eating utensils? Towels? Is there maid service like at a "regular" hotel? I know there's washer/dryer, do we bring our own soap? Also is there a nice store nearby to shop at? If anyone has stayed here or at a place similiar let me know! Thanks.

stayed there - lovely resort.

I would shop at the Publix there are several in the areas, there is also a super walmart pretty close.

definitely bring your own detergent and fabric softenor.

the washer/dryer are in the closet close to the master suite (or they were in my villa)

everything else is provided. Love it!!! this place even includes a cookie sheet (more timeshare resort don't).

I fixed our Thanksgiving dinner here - so it includes about everything.

It depends if you have the housekeeping rate or not. We were there last month and had the housekeeping rate. They came in with towels daily, made up beds ,etc. If you don't have it I believe they come in once during the middle of your week for fresh linens.
Heres what we did...
-Measured out & packed powder laundry detergent. The washer/dryer are the stackable kind. (smaller drums so it won't hold as much as home).
-Packed a couple of electrasol tablets for the dishwasher (although with housekeeping they provide it)
-Purchased dish soap (dawn liquid) at Super Walmart (didn't provide)
-Brought reg. size coffee filters (they provide 1 to start you off) from home so we didn't have to purchase 1,000,000 of them!
-Packed a couple of those measured Crystal Light drink mixes to make iced tea in a pitcher. (pitcher provided by Sheraton)..
-Bought lg. jug of h20 for Crystal light along with a case of bottled water.
-Bath soap- they did provide (again we had housekeeping) Jerkins brand.
-Hairdryer they provided was from the late 60's era, even though we had the newest section...ha ha... I brought my own.
-We squirreled away sugar packets, ketchup, mayo,a couple of jellys, etc. and brought them or grabbed them when dining out.

There is a list on Sheraton Vistana Resort if you go under "villa features" then select a 2 bed, etc. on the bottom right is a link that says "click here to view our villa inventory list"

Good luck, hope you enjoy it as much as we did! :wizard:

Is liquid dishwashing soap provided? The inventory list says it is, but one of the posts said they had to purchase it.

Do you have daily housekeeping? We did, but were only provided with automatic dish detergent(dishwasher stuff) We picked up a small bottle at Walmart :earsgirl: . It was a shame to leave all of that behind. They do not allow housekeeping to leave it in the unit.

I am renting from an owner. My confirmation form says "split housekeeping fee $45." I'm not sure what that means.

I just looked up Vistana's website and this is what I found:

For owners, housekeeping includes a complete cleaning upon check in, and a mid week "tidy up". Additional housekeeping is available for a nominal fee.

A contact number listed was 888-786-9637

Have you been there before? You may want to sign up for Diamond Lane check in at least one week?? before going. Be sure to put in any requests.

I've been there twice. (Falls & Cascades). There is a woman named Mia that is very helpful! :Pinkbounc
