Hello Everyone,
As this will be out first time using our DVC I would like to know what to bring as far as supplies(ex. soap, shampoo, etc). Also I understand that you can make arrangements to have housekeeping straighten out your room more than on just the appointed time. Has anyone done this and how much and was it worth it?
If anyone can suggest anything else I would appreciate the input. Thanks for all your help and see you July 21.

Thanks Greg

You don't say where you are going, how long, or what size you are staying in. But as far as the essentials. Unless you can make a small bottle of shampoo and conditioner last your stay take more, or if you're particular about the kind you use. Soap is the same. We stayed in a studio last year for a week and needed the same things that you would need on any week long stay, you wouldn't need all the clothes if you don't mind doing laundry. Never had the extra maid service and don't really think it would be worth it for amount of time spent in room.

You probably will need additional shampoo and might need a bar of soap (we haven't in the past). You also need to bring your own laundry supplies or buy them there. Sometimes I also throw in a few sheets of Saran Wrap. Toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towels, liquid dishwashing soap and soap for the dishwasher are all supplied and replenished as needed.

We usually just bring our particular shampoos and soap. We haven't used the maid service but it depends how long you're staying. We didn't mind making our own beds. Towels lasted until the one day of maid service that week. You can always get fresh towels and other incidentals for a small fee by calling the front desk.

Have a great time and Welcome Home!

If you are cooking in your unit, you'll need things like coffee, sugar, cream, seasonings, One thing that works for us, is we have setup with indiviudual servings of condiments/seasonings packs of ketchup/mustard, mayo, dressings, you may also want to bring a non-stick pan, people even bring crock pots to start something in the morning and have it ready for later.

Laundry supplies like laundry tablets, fabric softener sheets,

In fact if people will e-mail me their lists of things they like in their timeshare survival packs, I would see if we can get it put into the next vacation magic.

Since I'm taking a break from packing (only 1 1/2 more days til BWV!) everything is fresh in my mind. Here are some of the odds and ends we take with us:

~Tin foil, a few folded squares
~Storage size baggies
~Taster's Choice coffee (we use the coffee maker for hot water then make instant coffee)
~Sugar packets
~Ice tea mix
~Clothespin (for keeping snack bags closed)
~Tide laundry tablets
~Bounce sheets for dryer
~Electrosol dishwasher tablets
~Bottled water (I'm not crazy about FL water or the bottled water sold in the parks - picky, I know)
~Shampoo/Conditioner/Toothpaste/Travel size bar of soap (it's so tiny & cute I hate to use it! ;) )

We take fitted sheets for the beds. Also took extra laundry soap and dryer sheets. In addition, on our first day we make a trip to Publix for things like foil, plastic wrap, and all our food.

I just want to say thank you to all of your answers. They were a great help. Also as I forget to mention, we will be staying in a one-bedroom for a week and I am counting the days to go(actually Countdown central is doing the counting for me :jester:
Anyway I look forward to out first trip and again thanks...

Greg

We had a surprise on our visit in early June...they stopped stocking salt and pepper and I did not bring any. The store at OKW had some, but I would have brought some from home if I had known they stopped supplying the salt and pepper.

Greg, have a great trip! You will have a blast!
