My hubby and I leave in 9 days!!!!! We are planning on 1 small backpack to take in the park. So far my list is:
~ bottle of water for both of us
~ a few snacks (like bags of nuts or crackers with PB)
~ my hidden mickey book
~ our mini-fans
~ my wallet (his will be in his pants, I am sure)
~ a camera
~ and when I get a park map, it will go in there

Anything else we will need?

we leave in 9 days too

poncho manybe in case it rains
sandwichs if you dont want ot buy them at park
suncream

Poncho's. I bought the kids poncho's at Target before we left for $1/each. The ones at WDW are $7/each and I went through 2 of them. If it doesn't look like it is going to rain you always leave them in your room. We used ours 5 out of the 8 days we were there.

Good list but all we need is our rear ends. We try to keep our load to the least amount as possible. We take a few bucks cash, tickets, room key and camera. Thats it, we drink from the fountains and eat Disney snacks or during our mid noon resort break, make sandwiches for around the pool with our own libations. Really no need to carry alot of stuff. long ago, before bottled water became chic, people could go for the whole day before needing to be hydrated, no more, got to look hep, carry a bottle of water like you're going to die in the next hour if you can't get a drink. Same with cell phones or walkie talkies. Ten years ago no one had them and survived, not true now, the more electronic junk you can carry seems to give people a secure sense of mind. We're in our 50's and don't need to look hep or chic and in Disney, with all the people and heat, least is better, heck, we're only a bus ride from our resort and a few dollars can buy anything you might need to tide anyone over for a few hours.

Remember though if you get ponchos at Disney, I have read somewhere that if they rip they will replace it for free. I'm not sure where I have read it but I have read it somewhere, I think it may have been here.

I will add: a little pill box/container for Tylenol or Advil, Tums, etc.

I also carry Bandaids, moleskin, and a small pack of hand wipes.

Sunscreen
I usually carry a hair brush too
And when we go to MK and AK I bring one of those small towels from the resort to wipe the water off of the seat on the water rides :p

Why, surely your going to get wet anyway

I would bring a small washcloth to use to wipe the back of your neck and your wrists. That is where you can cool your body the quickest and it's nice when waiting in long lines and it's hot outside.
